Even after all the shit that goes down today, Chloe proves that she still has it.

I have a feeling the German intelligence deal could turn out to be this season's debacle at the Chinese Embassy.

Well it looks like the vice president is up to no good and is in league with either the terrorists or Henderson. Palmer's brother looks like he's going to get some action next week.

They are killing everyone this season. Tony, Michelle, Palmer. When are guys like Aaron going to get it? Tony dying along with Michelle really just felt wrong to me. I wonder why they even kept Tony so long in the first place. He should've just died with Michelle. They really did jack with him this season. What a freaking disappointment.

I really hope this deal with Audrey is just a big misunderstanding.

So now we know where Desmond ran to after leaving the bunker. I liked how Curtis got to play the role of Locke during the standoff with Jack. I'm disappointed I didn't make the recognition last week.

This was a fun episode. Too many fun exclamations from Jack to even remember, but I kept giggling with glee as he jumped from one situation to another. A nice change of pace from the "shit-who's-going-to-die-now"-ishness of the last few weeks.

I look forward to finding out whether Audrey realizes that she dealt with Collette, or whether Collette was duped into thinking she dealt with Audrey Raines. Clearly whomever was behind this (Henderson?) knew enough to invoke the use of Raines as a means of frustrating Jack.

And DB Woodside still rules at giving off that ambiguous air of whether or not he's up to any good or not. Clearly though, now that he's in mortal danger, it looks like he was working for good.

Awesome ep.

They've really been churning out good to great episodes in the past few weeks after a couple of clunkers early in the season.

The "Audrey Raines" bomb was definately shocking. Even if I don't believe it for a minute, it's a great cliffhanger for next week.

Wayne Palmer! I really hope he adds something to the show instead of being the next guy to be shockingly killed. I'm not sure how many more deaths I can take this season.

The angle with the Stoller was pretty good. They showed him in one of the split screens near the end so I'm hoping that means they're going to continue with the wet list fallout.

Charles Logan is no David Palmer, as we all know, but he's carved out a nice niche as the generally well meaning, but incredibly inept president. The contrast between his charcacter and his wife is nicely done. But how did he rise this far in politics without even being saavy enough to realize the VP is setting him up for a fall?

When are guys like Aaron going to get it?

Never, hopefully.

I read somewhere that the original plan was to kill Tony in the first episode. However, the writers decided that would be too much for one episode, so they ultimately just saved it for later.

I'm not sure how the vice-president's plan to bring the President down is suppose to work. Generally anything that makes the President looks bad makes the VP look bad as well, as they are thought of as a team. He truly is saavy if he has figured out a way to destroy the President's approval ratings while boosting his own.

The Audrey thing can't be as simple as 'she sold out to the bad guys'. Audrey is smart enough to know Jack would follow the trail that would eventually lead to her. She wouldn't help him do it (as she has so far), would she? But how did Collette get her name? Looks like all the infiltration that usually occurs at CTU has taken place at Washington this season.

So, are we all in agreement that Bierko is attacking America because that was the original plan, and not an ad-libbed one? Bierko meeting with Collette more than once over the past few months confirms this. Accepting that heightens my enjoyment of the show and eliminates a lot of the unbelievability of the past few hours.

I was really hoping the writers would foul up by having Henderson escape CTU easily because he knows the layout of the building so well. But, this CTU building is not the one Henderson knows.

I say that the deal with Desmond and the WET list isn't this year's Chinese Embassy debacle, but rather it'll set off the chain of events that brings the Chinese back into the story.

What was with the rock soundatrck playing over apprehending-Collette/Desmond-driving-away scene? I thought I was watching a different show.

Jack sure seemed to stop crying over Tony pretty quick. Just 5 minutes prior, he was bawling. Did they even bother looking for Peter Weller? They barely even mentioned it.

With most of the Season One cast dead now, at least we still have Wayne Palmer around to give us a better link to the past. And it looks like he and Agent Pierce are going to be digging deeper into whatever conspiracy is going on. Looks like Palmer knew about more than just the airport attack.

I think it's a mix of being an "on the fly" terrorist attack and a pre-meditated inter-agency conspiracy. Bierko seemed very serious about attacking Russia earlier this season, and in the last episode, it seemed even Bierko's men didn't know where he was going to strike (only Collette and Bierko knew).

I guess it all depends on when "Audrey" sold the schematic. It would be funny if it was her brother who really did it and they dragged him back in to torture this season. But, seriously, is "Crumbs" still on the air?

If this was pre-meditated, that means that the nerve gas was supposed to stay in the US the entire time, but the only way that could have happened would have been if Yellow Tie Guy was manipulated into taking the nerve gas back to Bierko. Maybe it can make sense, just as long as this doesn't turn into Season 4's 7-wave-terrorist-attack.

Last week, I didn't recognize Desmond, but the familiar hostage situation jogged my memory some and I finally put it together. He looks totally different when he's sleeping with La Femme Nikita-ish terrorists.

I think I could have tuned in for the last 10 minutes and caught everything I needed in this episode. Nice cliffhanger though.

I know. That music was definately not 24 music. All I could think of during that scene was "what the heck is this?"

Would it work for them to claim that the plan was never to attack Russia but rather to use the nerve gas in America? I'm a little hazy on the details but has Bierko ever alluded to the original plot agaisnt Russia (I should probably remember this)?

I thought the same thing about that music, seemed more appropriate for Miami Vice or something.

The composer Sean Callery has really stepped it up this season, and made a wide varied soundtrack. In Season One, there was music like this ("Theme From Jack Running Up and Down the Stairs" on 24: The Soundtrack), and he seems to be skewing back in a more rockin' direction this season.

The thing about that is, 3/4 weeks ago, Bierko was going to attack the Russian motorcade because his original plan of taking the nerve gas back to Russia had been thwarted by the US. I don't think he'd go through all that trouble of trying to kill the Russian President if his ultimate goal was to gas the US. In that episode, he seemed legitimately pissed when CTU and Agent Pierce thwarted that plan, and that he was going to attack America out of revenge for not cooperating with his assassination attempt.

I finally got around to watching the episode last night on tape. When Collette said "Audrey Rains" I was shocked and looked at my wife and her jaw dropped too. It reminded me when in the first season we found out Nina was out to no good.

I forget, is Nina dead?

Yup. Shot thrice by Jack in the third season after almost escaping a CTU interrogation.

I would assume that besides the slogan, the other breaking point for corporate would've been the fee to use Chariots of Fire in a commercial.
