The exit signs stayed on, too. I know those usually have a battery backup. The writers were obviously taking liberties with the science of an EMP, otherwise batteries would be our best defense against them.

Not a great day for him, but I'm sure we are all waiting for the inevitable swerve from him. Is Jack ever going to be able to have kids again? Those EMP rays can't be good for anything inside.
I was happy when Secretary Heller reminded Tony that he doesn't even work there when he volunteered to take over CTU. That seemed like a pretty important part of the decision process..hmm we need a new CTU director, he/she should be smart, decisive, not Curtis, experienced...maybe actually work here? Oh well, he and Michelle can bicker with Curtis over who's in charge while Jack does all the important work outside.

Sure, she went home for the day (and is gone for the season), but I would think that she'll be back to work in a week or so, right?
Maybe I missed the resolution to this previously, but is Heller's son still being tortured?
I can't believe they printed out the encrypted files! If they had a messaging window open, wouldn't it have been easier to just send it directly to CTU? I would love to be the CTU analyst who gets that printout dropped on his desk and has to type that in...

I guess the big plot is that they're going to kidnap the President because Marwan and the other terrorist were talking about everything being ready at the Air Force Base.

I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. Sure I can buy trying to hide info but setting off an EMP in the city? Even if they kill Jack and Paul (unlikely) the govt. is going to be even more suspiscous. There is no possible way to hide something this huge from CTU and the other alphabet soups agencies. This plot seems like something COBRA would try.

Their reasoning was that they would set off the EMP and claim that it was Marwan's doing. They didn't bank on Paul knowing some backdoor access and being able to repair a file so the plan went screwy.

| #12 Posted on 13.3.05 1750.47 | Instant Rating: 6.05 | The whole Jack/Paul thing is a less serious variant of what has become a common theme on this show - enemies working together to survive a greater evil (See Marcellus Wallace/Butch Coolidge). He did this in Season 2 with Nina when the plane was shot down, and in Season 3 with Ramon Salazar in prison riot. To a lesser extent, he also worked with Penticoff and even Kidnappin' Rick in Season 1. Now, while Paul can hardly be considered a villain, he and Jack ain't buds, and it is cool to see them work together (next week looks like a survival situation for them). It is fairly obvious that Paul went along to McLennan-Forrester to impress Audrey, which will only serve to get her back with him by the season's end.
That was a GREAT scene between Heller and Driscoll. That's all I can say about that.
