Saturday, January 7 AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Cincinnati at Houston (NBC) NFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Detroit at New Orleans (NBC)
Sunday, January 8 NFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Atlanta at N.Y. Giants (FOX) AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Pittsburgh at Denver (CBS)
NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS Saturday, January 14 NFC: 4:30 PM (ET) New Orleans/N.Y. Giants/Atlanta at San Francisco (FOX) AFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Denver/Pittsburgh/Cincinnati at New England (CBS)
Sunday, January 15 AFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Houston/Denver/Pittsburgh at Baltimore (CBS) NFC: 4:30 PM (ET) N.Y. Giants/Atlanta/Detroit at Green Bay (FOX)
Bengals over Texans...man, talk about two teams backing into the postseason. I'm making this pick based on Jake Delhomme starting for Houston, since I wouldn't pick Delhomme in a playoff game over a Pop Warner team.
Saints over Lions.....rout
Giants over Falcons....this is an even bigger head-scratcher than Cincy/Houston. New York can beat anyone and lost to anyone in the league. Atlanta, meanwhile, I still think is basically a fraud that caught a lot of luck with playing teams at the right times this season. So, in short, I guess I pick the Giants, but god knows how this one will play out. Giants have looked great the last two weeks, so they're probably due for another stinker at home.
Steelers over Broncos....even bigger rout. It'll be weird seeing John Elway with a big smile as Tebow gets sacked roughly 13 times during this game.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
Bengals over Texans: Trusting Marvin Lewis not to put his prevent victory defense in could be dangerous.
Saints over Lions: Lions play no defense.
Giants over Falcons: No confidence in this pick.
Steelers over Broncos: If San Diego had won the west, I'd pick them. If the Raiders had won the west, I'd give them a punchers shot. This is going to be Steelers/Browns 14-3 ugly game. But, I thought the Saints were a lock in a similar scenario in Seattle last year, and how did that turn out.

Houston wins at home. First playoff game in the city since 1991! Love Ya Blue...er, Moo Cows!
New Orleans easy in the Big, um, Easy. Saints have a better D than the Packers, so Stafford won't be able keep up with Drew Brees in a game of "can-you-top-this" like he did w/ Matt Flynn last week. Plus, Lions' secondary is AW-FUL.
New York Football Giants in the Jersey January temps against a dome team? Matty Ice gets the heck pass-rushed outta him...and I don't see Turner being able to run on the NYG D. CRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZ could have a coming-out party.
No Mendenhall? No problem. Steeler D won't be beaten by Tim Tebow's arm, even in Mile High.

Great, I am home for a Steelers playoff game for my birthday and its a 4:30pm game which means, I am leaving my folks around 1 pm to see it back at my house. Fuck you, Goddell. I am leery of Teabow Time especially with no Clark. I'll give Denver a 50/50 chance since Ben is still hurt and they have a much better defense then people are giving them credit.
Texans over Bengals. The finale four for the AFC won't be three of the four AFC North.
Saints over Detroit. I think this will be closer than what people think.
Giants over the Falcons. Cold and dome teams usually don't mix.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
Texans over Bengals. The QB injuries to Houston have me skittish, but can anyone reliably bet on the BENGALS?
Saints over Lions. This is going to be a great shootout.
Giants over Falcons. I can't forget what a gag job the Falcons had last year.
Broncos over Steelers. This was the toughest pick of the bunch. Either the Steeler injuries catch up with them or James Harrison knocks Tebow's block off and gleefully takes his next fine from Roger Gooddell. I'm leaning towards the former. MORE TEABAG TIME!
Can't wait until tomorrow afternoon... Ready to sit down and enjoy some wildcard football.
Texans over Bengals - 2 names that win this game for Houston, Foster and Tate. After seeing what Rice did to the Bengals last week, the Texans will be all about the run...
Saints over Lions - Detroit won't stop Brees and this offense. Not sure the Saints will stop Stafford and the Lions either, but they did hold them to 17 points in their earlier meeting.
Falcons over Giants - Weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday, so I don't think the Giants have that much of an advantage. I don't have a lot of faith in this pick, but I just think the Falcons are the better team...
Steelers over Broncos - Yes the Steelers are hurting and probably won't go any farther than this game, but the Broncos are bad and not playing well at all. Their D was good at times, but is still 20th in the league. The Steelers D is #1. All the Tebow'ing in the world will not help this one...
TJ Yates is starting for the Texans tomorrow. At no time was it announced that Delhomme was starting, so, unless I missed something this week, I'm not sure where you guys got that info.
And of course Tebow threw for 316 yards. Because there aren't enough gullible chuckleheads that believe that this nonsense is somehow INSPIRED BY GOD!!! PRIASE JEEBUS!!!
I hope Brady destroys this idiot next week, once and for all.

The venom in this post is amusing. I had no idea Tim Tebow was going around pissing in people's cornflakes.

Yeah, I would have said that It's False was merely talking about some people/fans trying to ascribe certain things to Tebow and his games that might not be true. Once Mr. False called Tebow an "idiot" though, all that went out the window. Tebow does not seem like an idiot, but then I don't know him enough to judge his intelligence.

Tebow is awesome/hilarious

Good for Tebow. I have joined the masses predicting his downfall each week this year, but he shut everyone up for now. I really thought they were going to get crushed by Pittsburgh. Tebow made some big time throws though, converting a couple of big third downs and not turning the ball over once. I'm impressed.
I'll be back to picking them to get crushed again next week, though. I saw a stat from ESPN during the game, I can't find it exactly now, but it was something like this: The Broncos have the second-worst point differential of any playoff team ever (only last year's Seahawks were worse), and all of the rest of the bottom seven or eight in that category also won their first playoff game; none won their second.
EDIT: Here it is. From this live chat on ESPN's site during the game:
ESPN Stats and Info: Worst Regular-Season Point Differential By Playoff Team, NFL History 1st Playoff Game 2010 Seahawks -97 Won>> 2011 Broncos -81 ? 2004 Rams -73 Won>> 1989 Steelers -61 Won>> 1998 Cardinals -53 Won>> 1978 Falcons -50 Won>> >>Lost 2nd playoff game
So all of the six worst playoff teams in terms of regular season point differential won their first playoff game of the year. The Broncos would be the first to win their second if they could upset the Pats next week.
You know, this is where working 2-midnight on Sundays kind of pays off. Driving to work I heard the Manning grounding for the safety, and figured it might not be the best day. Get a chance to see a score a while into the shift, and it's 24-2. Not bad. They'll give the Packers a game next weekend, but I'm not seeing it. For one thing, it's probably not going to be as cold as it was back in '08, and I'm a lot more worried about Rogers now than I was about Favre then.
As far as Tebow goes, he did have a good game, but, and I always know this is how it goes, and it goes in the book as a 80-yard TD pass, and all that, and it sounds great for the story, but that was all Demaryius Thomas.
With the Broncos though, I'm starting to get a small, small "'08 Giants" vibe off them. I don't think they'll make the big run this year, but, next week's not gonna be a blowout.
Lets go Pack over Giants, Pats over Denver, Niners over Saints, and Ravens over Texans.
Thread ahead: NFC CHAMPIONSHIP: New York Giants 20, San Francisco 49ers 17 Next thread: Black Monday Previous thread: BCS to playoffs (yes, again, maybe)
We might have to talk here soon, as I have Eli Manning and...well, that's it. Eli. But I am stacked at RB with C. Johnson, McFadden (and Bush as alluded to by RecklessEric) and Beanie Wells.
