Notre Dame looks to have quit for the rest of the season. Texas sucked. Bama should thank Mallet's overconfidence for their win since their QB didn't do much. LSU continues to win with people yelling for Les Miles' head. Mark Rich's bags should be packed by yesterday. Penn State should be worried that Temple almost beat them, Temple. The rest of the Big Ten continues to cruise against weak ass opponents and the old ball coach continues to hate his QB even when he can win them a game or at least keep the game from getting out of hand.

Alabama showed they can take a punch. For those of us who revel in chaos, that isn't good.
Considering their routs of UCLA and Notre Dame, perhaps Stanford will give Oregon a challenge in the Pac-10.
With the West Virginia loss at LSU coupled with the State University of New Jersey losing at home to a depleted North Carolina team, the Big East falls completely off the national radar for the rest of the season.
What has a better chance of happening: Boise or TCU getting into the BCS Title game, or, should a Big 10 or Pac 10 team make the BCS Title game, an unbeaten Boise or TCU ranked #3 being chosen by the Rose Bowl? Since the odds seem to favor my hitting Powerball and Megamillions in the same week before the Rose Bowl acknowledges the existance of Boise and/or TCU, they have a better chance of playing in the title game.

But how many punches can Alabama take? Unfortunately for Tide fans their defense of the title comes in a year where the power in the SEC has swayed considerably to the West and it coincides with the season that Florida and South Carolina are the two best teams in the East and also happen to be Alabama's two non-division rotating games. Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee (for rivalry purposes only), LSU, Auburn and SEC Championship game is a difficult table to run. I don't think they can go undefeated and they better hope Ohio State and Oregon lose at some point.

No way will the Rose take Boise or TCU. They took freaking Illinois in 2007.

I think TCU has a chance, but they might lose to Utah.

Here is the "why Boise gets in the Rose Bowl if Ohio State makes the Championship Game"-clause.

For the games of January 2011 through 2014, the first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the NCG and a team from the non-AQ group is an automatic qualifier, that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl.

I was happy to see my Auburn Tigers beat South Carolina, but I'm not so happy with our defense overall. Texas getting upset wasn't such a huge shock to me. I thought they've been ripe for an upset for a while now. I live smack dab in Big Ten country, but I live and die for the SEC. That being said, I hope Robinson isn't out for too long. He actually makes me want to watch Michigan football.

I don't know, even with the rivalry considered, if Tennessee can be thrown into that mix. If the kicker for UAB does slightly better than 0-5 on field goals in regulation, they lose 3 straight at home and they might be looking at coach #4 in 4 years.
Didn't know that clause for the Rose Bowl. Stanford/TCU or Boise in the Rose Bowl really isn't going to bring in the ratings the Rose expects.

Ugh. I blame ESPN and other media for their piss-poor reporting which leads to statements like these. Robinson's fine. He was fine a couple of minutes after going down and he could've come back in anytime. UM was killing Bowling Green with Gardner and Forcier and didn't need him at all. I blame ESPN for streaming "Michigan cruises past Bowling Green despite Robinson injury" for half of the day leading fans to believe he's out for any time at all.

The Rose Bowl will never get rid of the Pac-10 vs. Big Ten match-up unless they can get a #3 vs. a #4 the likes of Miami, AlaBama, Notre Dame, Florida or Texas. They love their tradition even if the rest of the country is bored by it. Oregon is my sleeper team to make it to the big dance thus screwing Boise State or TCU or Utah. I still think Michigan will lose a game or two between their meeting with Ohio State where they will be OSU if Robinson is healthy. If Robinson goes down which is very likely Rich Rod maybe packing his bags sooner then he thinks.

It's ESPN. It was going to be reported that he was injured in the first quarter and nothing is going to stop that. Even if he was able to return a few minutes later, that doesn't mean it's not a big deal when the leading heisman candidate goes out with a leg injury. ESPN has to broadcast this fact, and I really don't understand the backlash against it.

Then they really should've broadcasted the post-game presser where Rich Rod said he was fine and could've gone back in the game.

I think you missed jayjaydean's post where he quotes the BCS clause directly:

It's non-negotiable. The Rose Bowl doesn't have a choice in that instance.

Turns out they couldn't take Georgia in 2007, though Illinois was an odd replacement. I know they want tradition but I can't imagine that was the best matchup.
