During the review, you could tell that the fans didn't 'help' the ball reach the stands, but they did interfere with Cruz's glove and kind of impeded it from reaching the ball. I think that's what the umpires determined, that the ball was out of reach. But I thought for a second they might call it intereference with the glove but not the ball.

I was amazed and upset that the umps didn't go look at the replay. I mean, this WOULD be covered under the replay rule, right? How could they possibly be certain without looking at the replay that there hadn't been fan interference? As it turned out, the replay didn't really settle things, and if they had looked at that replay and let the call stand, I would not have had a problem with that. But why not take a look? I don't get that.

And one last one from our good friends at Deadspin

They say it best. Every fanbase has their share of mooks and morons (hell, I'm part of the fanbase that introduced the world to Thundersticks, which I'm pretty sure means Angels fans have a nice section of bleachers reserved in Hell), but it takes a "special" kind of fan to try and chuck a beer at Cal Ripken on national television.

They at least should have looked at the replay to see that the fan DID reach over the fence, and should have been thrown out of the place on his ignorant ass.

Agreed, way higher douchebag-per-capital ratio at The Stadium...those people are to Yankee fans like the Jersey Shore cast is to people from NJ.

Oh...and Robbie Cano is a monster!

Incredibly bittersweet. Can't stand the division rival Rangers and I can't stand that Vlad's going to the World Series in a Rangers uniform.

But man, is it always sweet to watch the Yankees lose.

So do we root for Philly to make the 3-1 comeback so we can watch Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay pitch Game 1 in Philadelphia? That couldn't be scripted any better if they tried.

It will be either Lee/Halladay or Lee/Lincecum. Can't go wrong with either one.

FOX disagrees, slightly.

They should've had the FOX guy come in right after the TBS guy to do the World Series presentation right there. The only way the Rangers lose is if their bats go into a massive slump the way the Rays' bats did 2 years ago. Even if they're hot, the Giants won't beat them and the currently cold Phils definitely won't beat them.

The Yanks losing ensures that the Cablevision dispute won't be settled by Wednesday.

I think having a team that has never won a Series against a team that hasn't won it since the 50s would be the best storyline, so go Giants.

On theother hand,, no team has won 3 straight nl pennants in decades.

The 1942-44 Cardinals are the last NL team to win 3 straight pennants. Whats is also rare is if Philly does pull out of the current 3-2 deficit and win the series, they will have faced 3 different teams 3 straight years (2008-Tampa Bay, 2009-Yanks, 2010-Rangers).

Still rooting for the Giants though as San Francisco itself has not won the fall classic. And dare I say this is what happens when the Rangers have some pitching? They not also win their first playoff series but are in the WS for the first time. Now we will see if Cliff Lee will stay a Ranger or take the money and go to NY (after all, Cliff Lee is 3-0 against the Yanks in postseason play).

You know it's not your team's year when their #1 hitter gets a season-ending injury on a walk-off home run.
