My crystal ball doesn't tell me all the standings, maybe yours will, but it does see this ...

- Brett Favre's streak of games played ends.

- The Jets and Cowboys let everybody down and miss the playoffs.

- The Raiders go 8-8, and lose the division due to tie breakers

- Pats in the Super Bowl and they beat Green Bay.

- Buffalo has the worst record.

- Haynesworth gets suspended.

- There's a tie this year.

- The owners ruin the league by approving an 18 game schedule.

Brett Favre streak continues but barely as Father Time finally gets the best of him by the season's end (MN finishes second in their division behind rival GB).

Buffalo finishes with a 3-13 record but not the worst (Detroit goes 2-14).

The AFC North sends 3 teams into the playoffs (Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cincinatti).

The Jets do disappoint and do not make the playoffs going 8-8 (a relative success still).

San Diego, NE, and Indy make the other 3 in the AFC to go to the postseason.

SF wins their division without much of a fight.

The NFC playoff teams include Dallas (division winner), NO (division winner), Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay (division winner), Minnesota and SF (division winner).

For the SuperBowl, NE wins number 4 over MN and Brett Favre is sent home in the sunset and the Vikes have a good second half due to Rice coming back while the first half struggles ultimately help GB win the NFC North.

I may be wrong on the AFC North because it will be difficult to send 3 teams to the playoffs but it could be the most competitive division this year.

I would not be totally shocked to see the Jets go 8-8, but doing so would be an absolute, unmitigated failure. With all the hype, media attention, and expectations surrounding this team, heads would roll.

-Eric Berry will be defensive rookie of the year

-Rodgers wins MVP

-Pats don't make the playoffs for the 2nd straight year.

-Jets win the division.

-Bengals and Titans get the wild card spots

-Chargers, Jets, Colts and Ravens take their divisions.

-Steelers with go 8-8. Tomlin's job will be in question next as well as Ben's QB status.

-Redskins and Carolina get the wildcard spots.

-Giants, Packers, Saints, the 49ers make the playoffs.

-Vikings will free fall after losing two straight.

-Mathews will get rookie of the year if he stays health

-Teabow will get banged up early and be ineffective for most of the year which result in Daniels being fired.

-Brett will throw Childress under the bus as he tries to go to some AFC team next year.

-Drew Breezzeee will break the Madden curse and hold up the trophy, again.

-Seahawks go 9-7 and 7-9 next year while Carroll runs back to USC or UCLA.

-I highly down half of this will happen.

Pats made the playoffs last year. They missed the year before that.

Random thoughts:
- With Ben out at least 4 games and the team not being as strong as in the past, I can't help but think Pitt falls off this year.
- Can't wait to see if Cincy starts unraveling with all the malcontents on that roster. Wow.
- I'm betting the Saints have the Super Bowl hangover this year.
- I'm excited to see who the team(s) are that will come out of nowhere and shock the league. Crossing my fingers and toes that it'll be the Browns. If nothing else, they (pleasepleaseplease) shouldn't be the complete joke they have been for the last few years. 2007 seems so long ago.

I think the Steelers could have another mediocre year if the defense has aged to a point where they can't stay at a high level -- I also think they'll go 19-0 -- but the Steelers aren't in the business of firing coaches in the first ten or fifteen years of their tenure, plus Tomlin just signed an extension. And barring another public conduct problem I don't think they weathered the toughest part of the storm with Roethlisberger this year if they weren't committed to him as their guy for a while.

I predict that even with Boldin and the big step in year three, Flacco is just a mediocre quarterback. There's my provincial contribution.

My bad on the Patriots, I guess their impact on the playoffs left me scratching my head if they made it or not. Tomlin's extension if I remember correctly is really only a one year deal with an option for another or two. I think Tomlin will be ok, but if the team does terrible, I am thinking 6-10 then I think Steeler Nation will start buzzing about.

Its not like last year when Troy's injury was out of nowhere, they know Ben is going time be gone for six week and only five games. So, there is some expectation to win at least 2 or 3 of those games if they go 0-5 then I guarantee there will be talk if firing Tomlin as well as getting rid of Ben. It was also pathetic last year when they were beating good teams last year and losing to the bottom of the barrel of the league. He was pretty much hammered on local Pittsburgh stations and I think people are willing to give him some time, but if he goes anything worse then 7-9 which means losing those 5 games Ben is out plus 2 more then you will hear the cries for his dismissal or some double secret prohibition for next year.

Yes, I know Cohwer was there forever, but he got them to deep into the playoffs as well as AFC championship games and Super Bowls during that time. It was an almost every other year thing for Cowher, plus they were competitive for the most part. Last year, they looked old and tired even when Troy was there.

Cowher's first three years: 32-16, two division titles, 1-3 playoff record, one AFC championship game loss

Tomlin's first three years: 31-17, two division titles, 3-1 playoff record, Super Bowl XLIII champions

Given that Bill Cowher coached through back-to-back 6-10 and 7-9 seasons, I think it is safe to say that even if the Steelers have a 6-10 year the last thing Mike Tomlin needs to be concerned about is his job security for 2011 (or even 2012).

Tebow won't see the field at all as a QB since Orton got a one-year extension and will play one more full season (provided there is no lockout), but you'll see him in the Wildcat (or as we call it here, Wild Horse) though.

Best-case scenario: he'll be the starting QB in 2012.

It wouldn't surprise me if McDaniels feels some heat by the end of the year. This team could be terrible.

Drafting Tebow bought him more time, and as I mentioned earlier Tebow likely won't start till 2012. If 2012 turns out to be a complete disaster then McDaniels will be gone.

Really? Because from everything I hear his trading up into the first round to get a guy most people regarded as a third-round-at-best prospect might be part of his undoing if things don't go well.

Thoughts: Despite the Lions improving, the schedule we drew is incredibly tough. They're going to remain in the NFC North basement, even though they're going to look much better.

Favre finally, finally, finally receives his comeuppance at the hands of the Packers.

Peyton Manning will receive yet another NFL Handjob....I mean, MVP award but the true MVP of the season will be Aaron Rodgers.

C.J. will get his 2500 yards but unfortunately, like last year, the last couple hundred yards will be receiving yards.

I just want to jump in here again and say this before there's too many more preseason games and I look like a bandwagoner: Offensive Rookie of the Year award goes to CJ Spiller, possibly the overall award too. After being terrorized by him for years in the ACC I knew he'd be a good NFL player, but he's already doing similar things as a rookie. Barring injury he's going to be a beast.
