Nice to see the 6 undefeated teams be the top 6 this week. What a concept.

And Texas losing at the end of the season would drop them in the eyes of pollsters. It's entirely possible we're looking at TCU in the national title game. I don't think a non-BCS team has been ranked 4th in the BCS at week 11 in the season.

Now, in the grand spirit of controversy, what happens if Florida and 'Bama both win out into the SEC title game, and that game ends close, like a final play field goal or something? Do the voters keeping the loser at #2 do enough to give a rematch in the national title game, if that's even possible?

If Texas wins out, the point is moot because they will be in the title game no matter what happens in Bama/Florida. Cincy probably finishes ahead of the loser of the SEC Title Game, and TCU probably would as well. Boise I doubt would. The place where controversy could come in is if Auburn knocks off Alabama, and then Alabama destroys Florida in the SEC Title Game. Would knocking off #1 then bolt them back ahead of the unbeatens. |
