Love that there's going to be a game 7. Hate the idea that with Perkins out, there's a good chance Big Baby or Little nate are going to be on TV a ton more and effect the game immensely.

An ideal situation and story for a Lakers-Celtics match-up with a decisive game 7 to declare a winner between the NBA's two most storied franchises.

Who should the Celtics have as a starter in place of Perkins? I may have to go with Rasheed Wallace. One, Rasheed has more length help cover the big men the Lakers have whether it be on Gasol, Odom or help with Bynum. Two, Davis is more effective from coming off the bench and providing a needed spark against a very tough Lakers team.

Things probably won't be pretty in what should be a physical game 7.

I foresee Wallace getting that long-hovering last technical foul with a Monte Brown Pounce on Gasol.

Did I say "foresee?" I meant DEMAND.

That game was AWFUL for the first three quarters. Both teams played miserably and nearly made up for it with an awesome nail-biter of a fourth.

Best unintentional comedy moment of the night: Among those that Ron Artest thanked? His psychiatrist.

I was cheering for Boston in this series but in the end, it was the Lakers who wanted it more.

There is usually an unsung hero somewhere in the Finals and tonight, Ron Artest who has been stone-cold from the field in this series but was very pivotal in the Lakers' 16th championship.

It helped that the Celtics allowed the Lakers to go the charity stripe many time in the 4th quarter but again, it just showed that the Lakers wanted it more.

Could a healthy Kendrick Perkins helped? Perhaps but the Celtics were in control the first 3 quarters and allowed LA to get back and eventually win the crucial game 7. Without further ado, congratulations are in order for the back-to-back champs.

Someone tell the same thing to the Lakers. They have that terrible tendency to fall asleep the next game after blowing a team out. Now's not that time.

Looks like they both missed the calls prior to the game. Lakers were lucky enough to check their voicemail before the fourth.

Sloppy series for the Lakers. I'll take it though.

We need to put this on the "list of stupid clichés that are stupid." You REALLY think Paul Pierce wanted to be an NBA champion LESS than Kobe? That Ray Allen's shots would've fallen because he didn't want them to go in enough?

The Lakers won because they were younger and without Perkins they were deeper. The Celtics had no legs in the second half.

And while Laker fans riot outside Staples Center (seriously, this is becoming tradition at this point), ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg is tweeting that Rasheed Wallce busted into the referee's locker room after the game. Oh my!

Maybe he had something worth discussing? It's like they had to send someone to the mall to get the refs some whistles, and the guy didn't get back until the start of the 4th quarter.

It's one thing not to call anything - "let the players decide it" - and be on pace for the ugliest Championship Game 7 ever*, but any player who adjusted to the way they were calling the game has a beef with the free throw fest that ensued.

* edit - Fans of the 1985 St. Louis Cardinals, your mileage may vary.

"It wasn't clear if he was trying to discuss the calls that went against Boston in its Game 7 loss to the Lakers in the NBA Finals or just say goodbye to a couple of veteran officials.

Wallace exited the Boston locker room before it opened to the media and navigated his way toward the team bus before diverting to the official's locker room nearby. He managed to open the door and talk with an unidentified person behind the door, before arena and NBA security ushered him back out.

Wallace stuck his head into the locker room and appeared to say, "Danny, I just want to talk," possibly to referee Danny Crawford, but quickly got removed from the room.

Wallace, wearing sunglasses and carrying his gear, waited about five minutes outside the official's locker room guarded by arena security before departing for the team bus without talking to the officials or media nearby.

The veteran forward, who is the NBA all-time leader in technical fouls, did not appear confrontational. While waiting he muttered again about simply wanting to talk and that it was nothing bad."

Well, I'd still like to take this opportunity to thank my brother for winning tickets to every Celtics home playoff game (facebook.com) ... I was hoping that an 18th championship would serve as the perfect topper to the entire experience, but it just didn't work out that way.

Hey, at the start of the postseason it was looking like a lot of those tickets were going to go to waste, so I can at least tip my hat to the 09-10 ballclub for making it as far as they did ...

Gasol elevated flopping to "flailing."

How does he draw a foul? Scream everytime you go near the basket and toss your hands as far from your body as possible.

I appreciate gamesmanship. But that was shtick. If he could converted all those foul shots, the game would have been a massacre.

13 up when Pierce grabs his shoulder and the Celtics offense never got into a groove again. Didn't think the Lakers could play the defense they did in the 4th. Don't regret as much as I would have if the Celtics had won not going for the 'Bet Lakers at Caesars to win the title where the Celtics are off the book while betting the Celtics to win at the Mirage or Wynn.' Would have come out slightly ahead on a Lakers win, but a Celtics win would have been hitting the double.

Good points to make which are also true but based the Lakers grasping for air entering the 4th quarter in the decisive game 7, it seemed the Lakers were just a little more determined to beat the Celtics from the 2008 matchup. Kobe played harder and the rest of the Lakers played smarter (half of the points in the 4th were from the charity stripe which is ultimately how the Lakers won in a tight fashion).
