Pitt in 7

Det in 6

For those that care about minor league hockey, one of the AHL conference semis is also Pitt (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins) vs Philadelphia (Philly Phantoms).

My boss is a Penguins fan...so I have to go with the Flyers. Yeah, I went there.

I like Detroit over the Stars.

Flyers in six; Detroit in five.

That Sharks - Stars OT game was incredible. I question what the Stars will have left for Detroit. At least they get some rest.

I think the rest issue is sometimes overstated in hockey. The tired teams lose just as much as the team that has been resting too long and is suddenly rusty. Plus, the Stars are the decided underdogs and can play like they have nothing to lose.

That said, Johan Franzen will probably score another 50 goals and possibly also save a child from a burning building during this series. Wings in six.

Pittsburgh will beat Philly, even though we're about due for another Philadelphia team to make a final and then break the city's heart.

How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person Im portraying. Youre confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard, and I said You are aware that I am not really a wizard? and Peter Jackson said I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show. So I said Okay and then I said to myself Mmm.. How do I do that? And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras

While a long rest has derailed a lot of teams, there is no way Dallas is winning the first game against Detroit if they had to play 2 days later.

The Flyers have really come into their own during the playoffs. From top to bottom, they can roll forward line after forward line that can hit and score. Biron has been playing the best hockey of his career, we will see if that can continue.

or Kevin Weekes for that matter... Seriously, though, both Ottawa and Carolina have got to feel pretty good about facing any of the four remaining teams.
