“How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras | StaggerLee

Didn't Malkin just get some ridiculous offer from the Russian Super League? And it looks like Hossa is going to test the free agent waters: http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241327&lid=headline&lpos=topStory_main | JustinShapiro

The Hossa news is not as uplifting. We were really hoping he'd join the discount parade.

I dunno how I feel about Sundin possibly going to Montreal. As a Leafs fan I should loathe the very notion of it, but by this point, I almost wish Mats the best somewhere else after all of the crap he's taken from Leafs management and the media.

When the TSN announcer asked Luke Schenn(?), "The Leafs haven't won the Stanley Cup in 41 years. What are you going to do to help change that?", I wanted to kick in the TV. What an asinine question to ask to a kid who just got picked. | El Nastio

| #10 Posted on 22.6.08 1029.50 | Alex Tanguay is the 25th overall pick? I'll take that, especially considering all he may need to a change of address. If things don't work out he'll be off the books after next year. He also might take a little bit less money to stay in his home province.....assuming he can live up to the expectations of BEING in his home province.
I really do hate the Leafs, but I do respect Mats Sundin greatly. Signing him would be a huge coup and will stengthen our team without losing anyone else. I high hopes for next year already, but adding these two will fill me with excitement. It will also mean that, once again, we'll likely have a showdown of Habs vs Pens vs NYR for first in the East.
Bob Gainey is working the same mojo that he did in Dallas, and I approve of this greatly.
