Yeah, all they were trying to do was throw deep. The team I've watched shred opponents in the short passing game and run game all year. Okay.

In the first half, which you actually watched, they were taking too long. Drop back and look around, get sacked. In the second half, which you didn't watch, it was quick back and throw.

But hey more important things happened this weekend that we haven't mentioned, like this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqfOCB21qwA

    Wow.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen with a referee. It's so ridiculous that I had originally thought the video was a fake when I first saw it. I have tried to rationalized how that could have been an accident, but I can't come up with anything. Word on the blogs and message boards is that the umpire was a three year starter at linebacker for Kentucky. (For conspiracy theorists, Kentucky just lost to South Carolina last week.)

The official explanation from the SEC at this point is that he was simply trying to defend himself from the players.

I believe they said it may "look" like something else on video, but no it's just him trying to keep out of harms way.

Amazing.

Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but are you suggesting that if UT runs the table and goes undefeated in the Big 12, a conference that is, by all accounts, BETTER than the SEC this year, that Alabama would deserve a BCS title game shot OVER the Longhorns?

Oh come on. Seriously? Are you looking at scores and records or watching actual games? When Missouri finally plays somebody good they get their asses handed to them. The same thing happened to Kansas, the same thing will happen to Oklahoma State, the same thing will happen to Texas Tech. Their conference isn't that good outside of Texas and Oklahoma they're just feasting off of crappy teams which the SEC doesn't have the luxury of. Oklahoma State/Missouri/Kansas/Texas Tech have combined for just one good win and that's assuming Missouri is actually a good win, I'm not sure yet since they've lost every tough game they've played.

Maybe the top 2 in the Big 12 are better than the SEC, but 3 - 12 the SEC is stronger. The TENTH place team in the SEC nearly beat three top 10 teams this year. That's not exactly equivalent to playing Baylor. Plus if they win out Alabama plays a better team in their Championship. Texas has a slightly better non-conference schedule but that's like Rice and UTEP so it hardly makes much of a difference.

While I can agree that Missouri, Kansas and OK State are somewhat over rated, they are certainly on the level of the mid level SEC teams this year. Not sure about Tech at this point, I think they're probably a step down.

And what team are you referring to? Mississippi? Cause they beat one top ten team(Florida), lost to another(Bama) and ....are you thinking of Wake Forest as a top ten team? Or did you mean Mississippi State, which lost 3-2 to a really not very good Auburn team that isn't top ten, by 10 to LSU and then beat Vandy who is not a top ten team either?

Playing Arkansas this year seems close to playing Baylor. They're terrible. And Tennessee kinda sucks too. Vandy has been exposed too in my view. Kentucky played well in a loss to Bama but has zero quality wins.

These two conferences are pretty much even in my view right now.

How has Vandy been "exposed"? They deserved their ranking for what they did to the point of the season and now they are 5-2. No one thought they were the 11th or 12th best team in the country so I don't see how they were "exposed", especially after almost beating Georgia (who the media loves to blow)

They "almost beat" Georgia? Really? Cause while the score was close Georgia seemed in control of that game the whole time in my view. Vandy isn't bad, that wasn't what I was saying. My point was that he was saying Missouri "got exposed" by losing to OK State and Texas, then why not say the same about Vandy losing to Mississippi State and Georgia? I think Texas would beat Georgia and OK State could beat MSU, personally.

The bottom line is, the middle of the road SEC teams haven't proven any more than their Big 12 counterparts.

You're right, they were only down 21-14 with 3 minutes to go in the 4th quarter with the ball. Georgia really kicked their asses.

Vandy had one decent drive the whole game. One. They went 75 yards in eight plays. Their other TD was off an interception at the Georgia 26. Other than that their offense did nothing. Sure they got the ball in the fourth quarter. And what did they do with it? 6 yards and punt, 22 yards and a punt, 9 yards and TOD, and 8 yards to end the game.

Sure a huge play could have happened, but that game never felt like Vandy was going to pull it out. Georgia was in control. Again, doesn't mean Vandy sucks, but that was never my point. It was that if Quezzy can say Missouri got exposed, then how would it not apply also to Vandy? They've lost two in a row!

Um, people thought Missouri was a national title contender and they've gotten totally destroyed the last two weeks on the side of the ball everything thought they were good at. That might have something to do with it, and comparing THAT to a Vandy team no one thought was that good but got ranked high for being the only undefeated team in the SEC East is a little extreme.

Possibly, but so is saying Missouri was "totally destroyed" against OK State. At least Missouri's two losses came to top ranked undefeated teams. What about Vandy losing to Miss. State? And only the same idiots who thought Clemson had a shot gave Missouri one. They're good, but no different than last year and expecting something more wasn't realistic.

I meant they got destroyed on the side of the ball people thought they were good at.. offense. Daniel had a miserable game and they could not move the ball against what people assumed to be an average OKST defense.

I'm not disputing Vandy's fall from "grace", I just think you're overrating . But I know that wasn't the point of what you originally said so I'll concede this, I just wanted to make the point that Vandy wasn't as "exposed" as much as they ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!! ;)

I think we can all agree now that Kansas isn't good. Not at all. I'm stunned at just how bad this was.

Also, thank you Maryland and Miami for knocking Wake down. Now if only FSU can beat VT. I have no clue.

I did say Kansas was one of the 3 overrated teams in the preseason. Clemson and Arizona State being the other 2. I am Nostradamus!
