WOW! I'm finished! Not a bad who's who but also it's a tough time for wrestling. So what do you all think?

***EDIT***

For the technologically inclined you can provide email feedback at...

PWI500@kappapublishing.com
Subject line: "PWI 500"

Grading is on...
*Win-loss record
*Technical ability
*Influence on the sport
*Success against the highest grade competition
*Success against the most diverse competition
*Activity

Just a side note too...Zach Gowen who made the list this year was not on the list last year. So, that might settle some grip about who makes it each year and how.

You've done your penance. Well done.

(Coincidentally, I was looking around for this list this morning, thinking somebody should have typed it in, but although it's been in mailboxes since Monday, nobody had manned up yet.)

Street date is TUESDAY, by the way.

Well, that's kind of obvious - they tend not to include ANY deceased wrestlers in the list if they can avoid it.

But remember, he is eligible for 2007 Wrestler of the Year. Has anyone had a bigger impact on wrestling this year than Benoit?

Beef Wellington is on the list. Didn't he die a couple of weeks before Benoit?

The guy who died the week before Benoit was Biff Wellington, not Beef. It's easy to get the Wellingtons confused.

Has Sting (#19) done something or wrestle some fantastic matches at high school gyms I haven't heard about?

Also what has Marcus Cor Von done to even crack #250 let alone be sitting pretty at #62?

First TNA star to leap to WWE? Granted, he hasn't done anything big since his jump, but Christian made the leap the other way and that was a big story.

As for "_____" Mahoney, they've never printed his first name for some odd reason.

This year has the most names in the top 10 I don't recognize; even when there were several foreign wrestlers in the top 10, I had heard of them. This year, Mistico, Perro Aguayo Jr. and Takeshi Morishima are the guys making me say "Who?".

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

Morishima's probably the best bet to do anything you've heard of, mostly because of ROH. Mistico was being pursued by WWE for a while, too.

I'm actually curious how PWI covered the whole thing. I'm guessing they probably just ignored it, but I kinda wish I had thought to pick an issue up.

No Hornswoggle? (sarcasm) He's the Cruiserweight Champion for God's sake! (/sarcasm)

But if Zach Gowen can make the list, Hornswoggle and his tadpole splash deserves a spot too. Unless this list is supposed to reflect pure workrate, he really belongs in there somewhere..

That's a kinda odd thing to say, seeing as Mistico was top 10 last year too.

I thought Sting has done well this year. His only awful matches were the ones where he was forced to do lame gimmick. Other that he's always solid. Has he had a match of the year candidate? No, but neither has Samoa Joe and I don't see people complaining about him being high.

Cena damn well deserves that #1 spot for carrying Khali to a watchable match. He should probably get to automatically keep it next year too for pulling off that miracle.

On first thought I was confused by Christian being ranked so high, considering he made his jump before the last 500 was released and that he wasn't THE guy in TNA the past year. Then I remembered that in relation to the other TNA main-eventers on the list, he's probably right where he should be. That realization blew my mind. Any confusion over where he's ranked is directly attributable to TNA's awful parity booking that ensures absolutely nobody gets over to the level that they should.

I hadn't followed it since I was a kid, and only in the last couple years because of this board, but I'm happy to see that there seems to be more international presence in the Top 25-50 as there was in prior years.

That being said, even though I understand the reasoning for it in that he's easily the most visible due to being ROH Champion, Morishima being the top-ranked Japanese wrestler on the list struck me as a bit odd.

But what I found legitimately weird was Minoru Suzuki being the second ranked Japanese guy at #14. He held the Triple Crown for I believe the entire calendar year that the 500 would fall under, but he's the top guy in a promotion that's a distant third in Japan. Not to mention that there are far more recognizable names under him. Very odd.

Human Tornado is one of the most entertaining workers on the planet. He's not a great worker, but a fun worker. I like him at 219.

220 however...Mike Knox? Really? Knox? Joey Ryan is worse than Mike Knox? I think not, and although I haven't seen many Joey Ryan matches, I've seen enough to know he's more entertaining than Knox.

And Icarus at 303 is awful. He should be at 3003. He has no charisma and is usually outshined in Chikara by his partner Gran "Mr. 294" Akuma.
