Angle vs. Undertaker from No Way Out. I had a feeling it would be better than people were expecting, but it still surprised me with how awesome it was.

I just finally got to sit down and watch the KENTA/Marufuji match last night, and I haven't been that into a match in a LONG time. I thought it was definitely the best match of the year, even better than the Dragon Gate match from ROH 3/31. It probably was the best match I've seen since Joe/Punk II back in 2004. Just a wonderfully emotional matchup. If you haven't watched it yet, go to the links above and see it now!

My vote goes to Akiyama vs. Marafuji from NOAH Shiny Navigation 9/9/06. I think this match is really getting underrated all across the board. I think they played the dynamic of Marafuji's speed and prowess vs. Akiyama's strength and power brilliantly plus a great surprise finish.

Thanks for the link , CRZ.

I caught Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA on YouTube last night, and was very impressed. One of the better technical matches I have seen in a long time. It is rare anymore that you see a match that you could almost think was real.

I have seen quite a bit of ROH, but not that much of Bryan Danielson before. He is VERY good, and reminds me a bit of a combination of Bob Backlund and William Regal. At least in that match, he did. Maybe it was the dorky haircut and pasty white skin. I can't see him making it in WWE, but that's fine. ROH and TNA needs stars too.

I've also heard that the ROH vs. CZW Cage of Death was a great match and the Embassy/GenNext Cage was MOTY. I'm trying to search for those matches online and I can't find them... does anyone know where I can find those matches online?

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Danielson/McGuinness and Danielson/KENTA were both Fantastic! I'd give the nod to Danielson/KENTA, though. The spot when KENTA hits the Go 2 Sleep and Danielson gets his leg on the rope...awesome. The crowd just went batshit for it, too.

Rusty Shackleford is just the name he uses to order Pizza with.

Here are some more thoughts from a demented mind in Central Florida:
I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the following yet:

Styles/Daniels vs. AMW - Slammiversary - June 18, 2006
Styles/Daniels vs. LAX - Ultimate X Tag Team Titles Match - No Surrender - September 24,2006
Lethal Lockdown (Sting/Styles/Killings/Rhino vs. Jarrett/Steiner/AMW) - Lockdown - April 23, 2006

To dilute my blatant TNA homer-ism ;), I'll add that Foley/Edge from Wrestlemania was some serious wild stuff. And while I didn't enjoy it for the same reasons as the previously-listed matches, Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James from Wrestlemania was also fun to watch.

Why yes, I am both a musician and a lawyer. Thanks for asking. :)

From a "Holy shit, these two are gonna destroy each other" standpoint, I wish to humbly add Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero in the I-Quit match to this discussion. It may not be up there on the high spot scale; it wasn't a technical masterpiece by any means; but those two beat the living hell out of each other and the endgame was fantastic. Who wouldn't have quit under those circumstances?

If Brock DOES have to miss some time, why not give the fans what they want? Sunday, have Brock pull out the win with an F-5 on Show, but put him in considerable pain. He can't get up after falling on Show for the pin.
