I have decided that anyone who doesn't like "Hey Ya" is not human. I've been a fan of Outkast ever since I heard them on the first Goodie Mob album, and it's really amazing that artists of that level of quality can manage in the mainstream. It makes me smile, gives me a little hope. Johnny Cash did the same. There is some music that is just so brilliant that it crosses every boundry. Any other year, Johnny Cashs cover of Hurt would have been far and away the best song. That and Hey Ya are so far ahead of everything else that was on the radio. Every now and again, music of substance wins.

If I only followed music like I used to, I could dispute or praise your followers. But, From what little I have heard it did come out good. Still though, Dixie Chicks? I know why they are there, Systems of a Down shared a similar viewpoint, Clear Channel didn't play them, and they got at least some talent.

Well, I'm finished nitpicking.

Yes, but the Dixie Chicks are a mainstream country band. System of a Down is a left-wing metal band. It took a hell of a lot more guts for the former to stick with their beliefs than the latter. (Especially since their latest single at the time - "Travelling Soldier" - would've been a huge hit on country radio, so they took a pretty big hit in the pocketbook as well.)

I freely admit that was 100% political, though. Their music... it's not terrible. I like the O Brother influences they've incorporated lately, but I won't be picking up any of their CDs anytime soon.

For worst cover, where was Tim McGraw singing "Tiny Dancer"? That's just awful. I'm also very disappointed that Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow didn't win worst song with "Picture"...

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

Why am I the only person who likes "Picture"?

Because I don't listen to radio and couldn't get sick of it?

Nice to see the only band that matters made the hall of fame.

"Picture" may well be my favorite Kid Rock song. That's not saying a whole hell of a lot, but it's better than most of his stuff. (Actually, my favorite Kid Rock song is "Lonely Road of Faith", but any wrestling fan understands that it doesn't really have anything to do with the song.)

As for the Tim McGraw cover of "Tiny Dancer" - this is the first I've heard of it. I'm sure it's terrible - it might've snuck in if I knew about it beforehand. Still couldn't have competed against Bizkit, but...

Try it in a karaoke bar, when people are fighting over who gets to sing it. Oy gevalt.

Seriously. Picture is sang by drunks at the karaoke bar every week here. Not only that, but it's sung very bad. It makes me shudder just thinking about it.

I must agree. I'm not a fan of OutKast (it's not that I don't like them... I've just never heard any of their other stuff). However, if I'm on the computer, you can bet that I probably am playing "Hey Ya" on a loop.

Caught that last night, when I went to show it to someone this morning, I didn't have access. Possibly bandwidth issues?
