Lost In Translation Starring Bill Murray, Scarlet Johansson & Giovanni Ribisi; Directed by Sofia Coppola
Excellent, excellent film. Not balls-to-the-walls action, but it was an excellent study on lonliness and companionship in a faraway land. If you have extra cash, see this for an enlightening film experience.
The Rundown Starring The Rock, Stifler, Rosario Dawson & Christopher Walken; Directed by Peter Berg
Funner than shit. Awesome time at the movies, filled with fights, jokes, explosions and Rosario Dawson looking hot. Yep, this is basically the opposite of Lost in Translation...as it's FUN, but not exactly a great film. But f*** it, if you want to have a great time watching The Rock kick ass...this is IT. Way better than it had any right to be.
My Calgary Flames are currently tied for first place overall with a record of 0-0-0-0. It's training camp, but it's a start, right?
I saw Lost in Translation last weekend, and it is truly a great movie. But we should throw out a disclaimer of sorts.
This movie is SLOW. It's filled with shots of Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanneson looking at things. It took away from the story for me, but because the acting was so tremendous, I didn't mind too much. Scarlett has grown up so much from The Horse Whisperer to now, and she looks radiant in this movie (I also loved her in Ghost World). Bill Murray deserves an Oscar nomination for his work in this film.
So I would recommend it, but only if you want to see great acting, not if you want to see a fast moving story.
Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.
TS, the greatest Wiener rated 6.1554 ever to live!! Oops, I mean 5.5...4.5?? Oh, dammit! I guess Notorious FAB was right.
But these are all still critics voting. In the case of Finney, who's a veteran with five unsuccessful nominations to his name, a lot of actors (several of whom have worked with Finney at some point) will give him the nod.
