That signaled the American Badass version of Taker (youtube.com). I wonder if we'll see another tweaking of the gimmick heralded by this/these vignettes.

Haha, yeah, that explains why I immediately got that Limp Bizkit song in my head :)

TNA - MAKING IT A WIN!

I meant after what happened on the tapings last night.

What happened at the tapings last night was caused because not one, but TWO major pieces of their company wide main event angle got signed by their rival company.

You cannot tell me that this does not reflect VERY poorly on management. ESPECIALLY because it happened before. This is totally bush league on all fronts to the point where several people probably can't take TNA seriously, as even several indie feds know better than to plan main event angles with unsigned talent.

But hey hey, MAKE IT A WIN, right?

Nobody can defend that or is. TNA Is better off without Nash and Booker but it's sad that Dixie doesn't realize that. Spike TV did push very hard for The return of The M.E.M because they drew some of the highest ratings in TNA History. Hopefully now Dixie will use the money she saved on El Generico and bringing back a guy like Petey Williams.

Well I'm glad I didn't post "if you don't think this is for Undertaker you're being way dumb" before the Sting story came out.

You'd think suddenly losing TheMonsterMeng to the Royal Rumble would have stuck in their minds.

Meng was always a meaningless midcarder, and the WWE signing him was a meaningless move that they probably shouldn't have bothered with.

What did he do after the surprise Rumble appearance? Nothing that I can think of.

WCW obviously didn't think much of him if they didn't have him signed to a contract at the time.

Hopefully Sting was smart enough to have the No Diamond Dallas Page treatment clause inserted in his contract.
And, with Sting joining the fold, does that mean Nikita Koloff is the biggest name from that era not to draw a McMahon paycheck, unless somehow Kevin Sullivan never did in the late 70's?

I said before, I'm more interested in a Sting/HBK match than a Sting/Taker match. That would be the two stars that repersented WcW and WWF the best in the 90's squaring off. Sting/Taker shouldn't be bad. I hope they give Sting an intro like he had vs Hogan at Starcade. Lazors are awsome.

Not sure if Sting is really showing up for Taker's streak, but this is exciting. Like child dream match exciting. I don't even like Sting at all, haven't seen the appeal in him since he started "The Crow" look and hated him working a part-time schedule in TNA and seemingly leaving when he got bored. Maybe he wasn't motivated in TNA, maybe this will rejuvenate his matches and I'll get something as awesome as Goldberg vs. Sting at Halloween Havoc.

Or maybe I need to go to sleep, I'm prone to fantasy booking when I'm tired.

I thought I couldn't get any more excited about wrestling than I did on 1/4/10 (thanks again, Bret!). My heart is swooning right now.

I may have to make the trip back down to Atlanta after all.

I live in NY and read the Daily News frequently, and I'll just say this - take this with a HUGE grain of salt. Especially since there is no source. The wrestling reporter for the DN is awful and essentially just regurgitates rumors he reads on Wrestlezone~! constantly.

I love the Daily News. I believe the headline on the cover of the Daily News the Monday after the Jets beat the Patriots was "SEE YA IN BIG D." Whoops!

That's the guy who has a section on wrestling for the Daily News every friday, right? The one who actually wears a mask for his profile picture and mixes wrestling 'news' with stories about how tough his Aunt is, I think. I find it really funny how such a big mainstream newspaper could have such a gimmicky and poorly written 'report' for wrestling every week. But maybe it's their way of mocking the 'sport' of wrestling, though it would make more sense to me to just get rid of it.

I hope someone does a break down of this. And the others that will surely fallow. I am a sucker for viral stuff like this. Cloverfield trailers and the Save_Us.222. All of it.

The lead up to seeing Bret Hart was way better than having Bret Hart around. Sting should be able to offer more after the initial appearance, but it also probably depends on how much he's will to give and take.

What size contract would it take to get Sting into the fold? I'm not sure how the wrestling wage scale really works. I'd assume it would have to a be pretty good deal for him to finally play ball with Vince.

I'm quite a big fan of the idea that 2/21/11 is actually the date of Taker's return, so everyone's happy with that when his music hits (whether it's gongs and spookiness or Kid Rock and motorbikes) and assumes that's what the videos have been about, but then Sting appears later in the show to surprise everyone and kill Undertaker with a black baseball bat.

I will say that the rest of the Mania card is slowly shaping up to be a really great episode of Raw right now, so bringing in the (rumored) Sting to face off against the Undertaker in Atlanta - even as an obvious loss to the Streak - definitely gives a big-time feel.

Is Flair definitely signed to TNA? I wonder if the WWE would put him against archenemy Sting for "one last match" at Mania.

Precisely. The guy is an absolute 'tard. He probably read on Wrestlezone or some other newz site that 2/21/11 could be about Sting and just reported it. I'd actually guarantee that is what he did.

Nash looked mad goofy in the mid-80's Wranglers and the kabuki hairdo. Syxx-Pac is still a goof... All that being said, that may have been the best Kevin Nash match since before he left for Turnerland.
