(Click on the "DVD" thread icon to find previous weeks going back 13 months - to see new release lists from the previous four weeks, quick links are right here for 2/12 - 2/19 - 2/26 - 3/4)
Hello.
Pretty slow this week - we didn't break 200 but we sure got close. This week we finally see more Blu-Rays than HD DVDs (10 vs. 4) - the first week since the announcnment of the format's demise - oh, and 185 DVDs as well.
To immediately get to the new releases, scroll down to the next horizontal line! If this is your first time here, a little bit more about what we do follows...
Unlike those curious Amazon folks, who are apparently so desperate for clicks that they only let you see 12 items on a page, we assemble the whole shebang, then place EVERYTHING on one (very long) page for your convenience!
Hovering over links should provide you with Amazon's current price (which will usually be at its lowest during the pre-order and on the day of release!)
Adding an item from here into your Amazon shopping cart provides a friendly referral from The W, so please consider making your purchase - or ANY purchase, for that matter - through us. It'll place a few coins in our tip jar and YOU'LL get some good karma...well, you'll get your merchandise, anyway. Probably.
As much as we love Amazon, sometimes - often - they are a little light when it comes to the details about the stuff they're selling. That's where we step in - I attempt to some provide additional exposition (or, more likely, a bad joke) along with links to more information represented by IMDb icons (which can be clicked to take you to a movie's IMDb listing) or tv.com icons (which can be clicked to take you to the relevant episode list from tv.com)! And if I can't give you THAT, I'll sometimes take you directly to the distributor's own information...especially when they're also offering a trailer or free preview. You can waste LOTS of time on these - and really, isn't that what the Internet is all about? (Distributors with no Internet presence suck, by the way. You get NOTHING for THOSE listings. Sorry, but I can only do so much with my ability to read minds!)
ALL links should open new windows while keeping this one alive, so you can click, look, and then close to come right back here! We never want you to leave!
If you don't mind my asking for some promotion, please tell a friend about this post (or vote this thread up on Digg/Propeller/ Newsvine/Reddit/&c. with a click of the icon(s) of your choice at the bottom of the page) because it takes me a long time and I'm a big fan of more eyeballs! We're also happy for you to share this link to others via email as well - a lot of people do that!
Please feel free to add a reply and share your two cents about any of the listings you see here - show off your impressive knowledge, share your opinion about something you've seen, something you're looking forward to seeing, or make your own crappy jokes which are better than mine!
We also hope that if you buy something, you come back and tell us what you thought about it! This has hardly ever happened, but it's always appreciated when it does!
If you have something to say but don't want to say it publicly (or register for the board), you can also email me direct at CRZ.DVD@gmail.com!

Wow, we really petered out there. Like I said...a slow week. Come back Monday and we'll see if any of things are actually selling. In the meantime...okay chief, let's talk why not.

Sadly, it appears this to be a poor movie in the genre of horror featuring old luchadores cutting off people's faces.
I'm not sure what this could be (well, maybe a waste of $10.) There was a DVD they were giving away with action figure purchases, but it was supposed to have actual matches on it. This sounds like maybe 4 minutes of the Quina Estacion video (to be fair, Heavy Metal's best performance in years), maybe 4 minutes of highlights, 4 minutes of Fray Tormenta taken from one of the dozen of recent documentaries that have included him, and 30 some minutes of whatever version of Mistico's past they were telling on this day. Mistico's great, but not for interviews.
NEXT: Did someone say nerds? Battlestar Galactica is ALREADY #1 for next week...and probably has been since the release was announced. More on that then. LATER.
The Tin Man miniseries was pretty interesting. Sometimes the acting got a bit into the Lithgow/Shatner school of dramatic overacting, but on the whole it was a pretty cool retelling/reimagining of the Oz mythos. Not sure I could recommend a purchase of it, but it would probably be worth a Netflixing for any fantasy fans. Plus it has Zooey Deschanel who is always worth seeing.
After seeing five ads for this in the first hour of Raw, I humbly beg that no one spend a single dime on this DVD. Even if it is starring the "hell, Lumbergh fucked her" guy.
EDIT: Spelling. Curse you, SSS, for displaying my error for eternity.

Hi there. Hey look, it's that thing I do every week where I painstakingly compile information on EVERY new DVD (256), Blu-ray (70) and digital download (23) coming out Tuesday...or the week thereof.
