Thanks for the link! The article that references the Masked Wrestler of Paris - most likely Theobauld Bauer -- is here: http://wrestlingperspective.com/working/1867/heraldtorch1225.html And another early maked wrestler ... in Bucharest ... http://wrestlingperspective.com/working/1874/ohiodem1204.html We just added another article, this one from 1911 ... Some entertaining facts have been divulged in the negotiations for a match between Mahmout, the Turk, and Zybysko, the Pole, and the most interesting is the fact that in the last three years there have been but three matches in Chicago that were on the square. One was the Hackenschmidt-Gotch match, which as an exhibition was the worst ever seen. But it was honest. Another with a taste of squareness was the Mahmout-Americus contest, on fall of which was on the level. The other square bout is not exactly known. Great line You can read the complete article here: http://wrestlingperspective.com/working/1911/seatimes0101.html (edited by Wrestling Perspective on 14.4.07 1740) http://wrestlingperspective.com
Well, if the subject is WWE Legends hosting new reality shows, and you want something more current, how about: Stone Cold Steve Austin (as Jeff Probst) in "Redneck Island" (cmt.com) ?
