Yes on the Christmas break, but there was a preview. I was under the impression that only those in Canada didn't see it. Tonight's ep was one of those special extended (by 4 minutes) episodes.

Maybe the "Dad?" line was predictable for some of you, but not for me. I thought we were merely going to see a battle between Locke and somebody else over whether they should use the computer to communicate with the outside world and thus get rescued. I wonder if the Others have their own Dharma Initiative bunker or, as hypothesized by many, if the Others are the original DI participants.
Also, I'm glad they acknowledged that the Dharma Initiative film was cut/edited. That's been bothering me since I first saw it. Was the film hiding in the Bible that Eko found in their bunker?

Kate = killed her real father after discovering truth.
Locke = duped by real father after meeting him late in life.
Jack = feels guilt for "betrayal" of father and subsequently has to seek him out.
Jin = Denied existance of father.
Sun = Father is domineering and controlling.
Walt = didn't know real father (Michael) until later in life.
Sawyer = Father killed mother and himself.
Claire = Father of child abandoned her and baby.

| #11 Posted on 1.12.05 0955.41 | Instant Rating: 6.74 | In the re-spliced footage, you could tell that the scientist guy rushed out for a haircut inbetween those frames. He looked a little different.
I'm glad they showed the missing footage within the same episode, because if we had to wait a month for "Don't use the computer to talk to anyone in the outside world", that would have been a let-down.
I liked this episode. It was probably the strongest episode this season, minus the season premiere, and the reasons are obvious: we're no longer divided by "tail section people", those on the raft, and the main lot - everybody is together. The Jack/Sawyer/Kate love triangle is back (sorta). That in and of itself isn't neccessarily a good thing, but at the very least, it means that the REAL Sawyer is back. Eko and Locke are figuring all this island crap out, and some things are (sorta) getting explained.
The promo for the next episode was well done, but who knows if it'll be any good. LOST is kind of like russian roulette in terms of episode quality this season.

Well, there sure are a lot of killers on this island now aren't there.
I wonder if the island is similar to the end of Ghostbusters?
At the end of Ghostbusters everyone had to clear their head so Zeul wouldn't turn into whatever they were thinking. Of course Ray blew this and thought of the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man, so that's what they did battle with.
Is the island similar? Meaning if Shanon decides she is seeing Walt others mightl see him as well, or Kate with the horse or even Locke and Eko thinking they can use the computer for communication and suddenly it communicates.

(With the fact that the viewing of the 'extra footage' of the orientation film simultaneously with Michael contacting 'Walt' being, as Eko would say, coincidental?)
My money says its not Walt on the other end, but whomever has him. Or its someone else who's father is named Michael.
