I heard about this on the radio yesterday and had to look it up myself. Unbelievable!
Musical performances by Tom Petty, Steven Tyler/Joe Perry (while they were performing, the host had his teenage nephew to sit in on drums), 50 cent (smelling of Hennessy, with a naked woman in his limo), Grumpy Don Henley with Joe Walsh and Stevie Nicks, Ciara and KENNY G.
Party favors included a digital camera and a video IPOD.

I'm just amazed that the wing of my family that actually has money didn't think of this first.

I dunno, Me First and the Gimme Gimme's do a pretty wild Hava Nagila on their most recent album, "Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Ruin Johnny's Bar Mitzvah".
"Meanwhile, with all the chains and things he wears around his neck, Cena looks like he's been jacking hubcaps off some old lady's Saturn. He needs to get some tapes and really study Kurt Angle, or else he's going to have to feed his family off of the money he makes from those hubcaps." -Bobby Heenan on John Cena

I had no idea the guitar solo from The Offspring's "Come Out And Play" came from traditional Jewish folk. But then again Hebrew School was a long time ago.
Although when my friends and I (circle of friends in question: mostly non-Jewish) used to frequent Howl At The Moon, we'd break out into Hava Nagila every time they played "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" up to and including lifting people in chairs. Good times.

I remember seeing a news story aeons ago about Cake (you know, "The Distance") playing a bar mitzvah. They got contacted to do it by the family and were kinda skeptical, so they asked the kid on the phone to quote back some of the lyrics to their more obscure album cuts. He nailed every one. So, they played at the event and a good time was had by all.
