OK, another great show, but one question ran through my head all night long...

Who decides that Brock Lesnar is the next big thing and Deacon Batista (Leviathan) is gonna be a mid-card flunky? What's the big diffrence between the two?

All those hoping for an Angle/Benoit feud...looks like your wish is gonna come through!

I guess Brock will be dumping Heyman sooner rather than later. While that may be good for a face turn, I wonder how smart an idea it is. He's not the worst, but his verbal skills still aren't up to main event caliber.

BTW, mad props to Hogan throught the entire time since his return. What a fantastic job he, Heyman and Taz did tonight putting over Lesnar as a genuine threat to the health and well being of the legend.

Lastly, is anyone else as amused by the Nike Presto commercials as I am?

Lesnar has Paul Heyman pulling for him... Batista has D-Von.

Lesnar plays with the big boys (Hogan, Angle, Rock)... Batista loses to Rikishi.

Lesnar has been anointed the "next big thing"... Batista came in as a money-box holder.

Well, jeez......Hogan comes in...he jobs cleanly to The Rock, causes no trouble in the back, drops the World Title gracefully when asked, taps out (!) against Angle, and tonight he jobs cleanly to Brock Lesnar and puts him over as a huge monster.

Who is this bald-headed old man and what has he done with Hulk Hogan?

And a fashion report, too!

Tonight's commercial - FootLocker...raps? (4). Five commercials had 2 each.

Kurt, in Red, White and Blue camoflague vs. Cena, in his sky-blue crayola shorts. Dang good match - coulda been great if not for the run-in. BUT, the run-in DOES set up an Angle/Ben-wa/Ese vs. Edge/Rey/Cena deal.

Hey, didn't Angle originally WANT Ben-wa on Smackdown!? Ese reminds them that they're HEELS so they decide to work together to do-in the pesky "future of Smackdown!".

Dvon, in the black Rev'd outfit, w. Bautista, in black undies vs. Henry, Mark, in his "World's Strongest Man" gear. Okay match - I just don't like Dvon as a singles wrestler.

Now, Rikishi, in wedgie-gear and a Tshirt vs. Bautista. Okay match, but short. Will Bautista turn on Dvon?

Brock asks if HOgan wants out, but Hogan instead suckers Brock into putting the Summerslam title shot on the line. In a Jerry Springer moment we get a catfight and white trash (Torrie, Nidia, and NOble).

"Haunted", from what I see in the ads, looks a lot like YuYuHakusho.

Billy and Chuck, in red undies and white shirt/robes, w. Rico, in his striped suit, vs. Shannon Moore, in blue/silver trunks and Hurricane, in his mask and cape. Oh man, Moore looks YOUNG. Good match.

"The future" chats. Kane's "fire still BURNS"

Edge, in silver trunks and black trenchcoat, Cena, and Rey, in black mask with purple feathers and cross and black pants vs. Kurt, Ese, in black trunks, and Ben-wa, in blue and blades trunks and the IC belt. High Energy! Great match! WOuld've been Mega-Great had we seen the whole thing.

Kurt wigs (no pun intended) out. Fued!

Nidia, in trash gear, and Noble, in a cut-off flannel and jeans, vs. Kidman, in black and neon-green trunks and Torrie, in pink and yellow. Okay - short. Torrie isn't a regular wrestler, is she?

Dawn and Stacie both try to be good little girls. Or not! Hey, Maybe Stacie is a saboteur. Steph (who doesn't watch the whole show, just parts) comes in. (if she watched the tape of the show she'd KNOW that Stacie is up to no good! and just last week she was telling the guys to watch the show!) comes in and asks questions, then leaves. DeadCowMan (who I only want to see ONE night a week) is there!

Hogan flexes, brutha!

Brock, in black undies and tatoos, with Paul and the NY hat, vs. Hogan and the bolas (each one means one Big Bird was plucked). Good match, coulda been Great if it had 5 more minutes to develope. Brock sweats a lot. Paul Heyman was GREAT in getting-over that Brock has gone TOO FAR.

Overall, Dand Good. No long talks, only minimal backstage stuff. In ring action=good show. Take notes, Raw!

Brock's also a former NCAA champion that could make him marketable in the future and possibly put him in the same class as Kurt Angle in terms of "real" athletes turning to pro wrestling.

What got me tonight was Tazz calling Cena's ProtoPlex correctly, then Michael Cole completely STEPPING ALL OVER HIS CALL mentioning it was a modified sidewalk slam.

And I thought Cole was doing good. Idiot. I-D-I-O-T. (Sorry, Lingo-itis)

So Rock was down under- who is with him? I can't think of any other many players missing from tonight's show. Did he go ahead to promote the tour to the locals?

My favorite thing about tonight's show was the cruiserweights all over it. Rey pinning Kurt! Hurricane and Shannon take the act over from Velocity, and Kidman/ Noble as well (although not much happened there). I had begun to worry that the smaller guys were relegated to Saturday night.

And yes, I love the man being chased by the chicken.

Ok, my last post just looks wrong. I don't actually love the man. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but we've never met and I've always preferred the ladies. I meant to say that I love the commercial.

But seriously, I loved the story of the Brock-Hogan match. That alone picked it off the ground and made it the great match that it was. I [HEART] BROCK LESNAR.

AWESOME show tonight, in my opinion. They couldn't have done the Hogan-Lesner booking any better, IMO. Brock wiping Hogan's blood all over his chest was a nice touch, too.

The only really boring segment was the Batista/Henry/Rikishi/D'Von stuff. Everything else clicked top to bottom and thank god they did something to make people start to boo Lesner. Welcome to stardom, Brock.

-Cena v. Angle- A damn entertaining match. Went about 8 minutes until the run in and the set up to the "real" match. Well usually do an interview for a set up of a match later on that night. But seeing Kurt in there twice doing his "Wrestling" thang. Heck I'm not complaining.

-Henry v. D-von- Slowly I'm not hating Mark Henry as much as I used to. He seems to be hustling a bit more in there and I dig the "jumping on the guy while his throats on the rope and sliding to the outside" move (well until he really hurts someone... - Rikishi v. Batista- On the other hand Rikishi is so high up (much like his thong up his ass) on my "I don't give a sh*t" list that I found this match more boring.

-Hurricane/Moore v. Billy/Chuck- Pretty good match. I liked seeing Hurricane/Moore back together. Nice finish. But isn't B&C finisher the SAME finisher Trish & Bubba used a few weeks ago. Which I think Trish & Bubba broke out with it first. Err first B&C copy Lenny/Lodi gimmick and do it poorly and now taking Trish/Bubba finisher.

-Mysterio/Edge/Cena v. Benoit/Eddie/Cena- First of THanks WWE for giving this atleast 10 minutes. Awesome great match. THey really had Cena in there getting beatings for the entire match and the crowd cared enough to stick with it. The ending was fast and furious (in a good way..lol). Mysterio getting the quick pin on Angle was a great touch and showing again why Angle should be loved by everyone... Angle backstage bitching was classic "I was pinned by a freakin 12 year old", to funny.

-Nidia/Noble v. Torrie/Kidman-Ummm what can I say, seeing this just makes you appreciate Molly & Trish's mixed tag matches.

-Brock v. Hogan- I guess the match was secondary. The main story is that they had Brock punk out Hogan in every which way. The are clearing the path totally (including not having H on his show) for Brock to be the "nextBigTHang" the question is can he take it. Hogan reassured me again that he is the "only" thing worth bringing in from the NWO (which I said from day one)

-other stuff- I can't remember the cartoon but it had a big tough dog and a little small dog jumping and hanging around him asking "what u wanna do? where we going" that reminded me of Heyman in his first backstage segment with Brock (lol)... I liked the Cena interplay with Edge while describing the crossface...

Yes I liked the business girls backstage stuff as well, Dawn, Stacy and yes even Steph did a good job backstage and it was a cool moment seeing Eric come out and do the evil greet Stacy, I like Dawn seeing her on TV is a good thing... HOgan cut a good promo as well. A real good night for the backstage stuff.

Micheal Cole seemed to have an awful night today, after the 6 men tag he promote the main event and he said Hulk Hogan vs. Kurt Lesner, he was mumbling stuff during the entire show... Plus I found it a little strange that they went to commercial twice while in between the final guys coming out and the match starting. I didn't mind I got to hear the cool Benoit and Hogan themes.

sign of the night "Nidia scares me"... I agree I don't think I can handle her (lol)

line of the night: Angle "I got pinned by a freakin 12 year old!"... also liked Dawn when asked what is she thinking she answers "I'm not thinking anything" yup that's our Dawn =)

How are GUMBICO copying Lenny and Lodi? I mean, Lenny and Lodi were GAY and open about it in the gimmick. Billy and Chuck are playing the part of the Ambiguously Gay Duo, albeit without the fighting crime a Penismobile thing. And Rico's there being ambiguously stylish. *shrug*

Smackdown is a lot better now, except for the constant shoving-down-our-throats of the Rev. D-von. It looks like the writers are just looking to FINALLY split Bautista from D-von.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

Somebody give John Cena a gimmick.

Bautista and Lesner are both HUGE. Compare where both are at right now.

Billy/Chuck vs. Moore/Helms 3 Weeks in a row???!!! What is tag team wrestling even doing on Smackdown anymore?

Angle continues to prove he's the MVP of the ENTIRE WWE. Believe that.

Props to Hogan for putting over Lesnar so well.

MARK-OUT MOMENT OF NIGHT: Benoit puts Cena in the crossface and the expression on Cena was just priceless.

Oh God. Homerun show homerun show! If that show had been a hippopotamus I’d have loved it from top to bottomus! And once again, my dad…I mean, the Hulkster proves why he is the icon of professional wrestling. Fuck Australia, you’ve earned a break, Terry. Everything from that 29 years old crack to the way he did the main event was classic Hogan. Say what you will about abysmal work-rate but the dude understands the psychological aspects of this business in terms of bringing in the crowd and telling the story…That’s why the Ultimate Warrior and Goldberg can make comebacks any time they want and still make headlines.

Anyway, the whole point is this. Brock was made on this show. And I think the thing that really sent it home was when he came back, and wiped Hogan’s blood on him, and then spat at him. Just that little sequence there made me want to jump through the screen with an elephant gun and shoot Brock’s head off his HGH-infested shoulders….

And for a man main-eventing the 2nd biggest show of the year, for me to want to do that….that’s a not a bad thing, that’s…a good thing. *Smiles dishonestly, then falls to ground holding splotchy, injured neck. Quickly moves to California to assist hapless career.*

O.K. I'm back not that anyone missed me. I just didn't have a nice web site to black out but you get the idea. I bought tickets before the Bishoff crap but Stefie was the last straw for me. So I have been on vacation both literally and also heeding the advice of some Wieners to stop watching if it was so bad. I really wasn't having fun anymore.

I decided to wait for this show to see if it could bring me back. It worked. I marked big time on the death of Hulkamania. It may still live on for the humanoids but it died to me last Sunday. When the arm was raised for the third time I had hand on my disgusted head like so many times before with my index finger of my other hand going side to side for the usual "no way you can make Hogan quit". I have seen Roddy put him to sleep but I never saw them do the three arm raise garbage. If it has happened before then that's fine but I have never seen it but to me it was the biggest "shocking swerve" ever.

I had great seats but I was 7 rows back to the left of Cole. I think that is a camera dead zone. If you saw a big guy with a ponytail (blow me you little Slim Shady punks) marking the fuck out wearing a NOT MILK T-shirt (basically a girl drinking from a glass but the white stuff on her face is NOT MILK) that was me. I had a friend tape the show for me and but I haven't seen it yet. He said they ended on the first chair shot but Hogan who, by the way, is even slower live if you can believe it. He got his ass kicked a LOT more after that. For every Hogan chat I was screaming Kill Grandpa. Yeah not real witty but it actually produced a discussion from those around me about his real age. The guesses ranged from 50 to 65.

From what I am hearing I guess they didn't show was the extra beatdowns he got. They called for the stretcher after the bearhug and it finally came out after the first chair shot but they just kept it at the top of the ramp. Lesner really got the blood flowing after that.

I fell for the "card subject to change" on the Rock. The commercials said it when I bought the tickets as well as saying a LIVE Smackdown not a taping. I still don't know the reason for a Sunday taping. Brock cut a promo about Rocky being in Australia (Yeah get the F out my ass) which I am told never aired. He came back and did the same promo again. I think the problem they had with it is that Brock is always smiling and they don't think he can do the monster heel scowl. I loved the big grin when Hogan was doing all the poses. I think the smile gets the no fear angle that he seemed to be going for all night over perfectly. Plus you can have some face say he is going to wipe that smile off his face.

They played Rock videos all night and shot the Finally blah, blah Richmond T-shirts into the crowd. I could have cared less but I was really expecting some Rock interference to ruin the match. That was another reason I was marking so hard for the beatdown. My girl was not very happy about not seeing the People's ass but I finally told her that the crowd wasn't going home happy that night. Hogan must have lain dead in the ring for a full 5 mins. and they were just then bringing down the stretcher from the ramp. No one left so we beat the entire crowd out and I was still marking out all the way to the car.

I don't think it will get much better than that any time soon but I will try to watch Raw and Smackdown next week. As far as the rest of the night here goes. Benoit blew right by me on the run in. Tajiri looked like his leg was legit hurt. Welcome back Mike Awesome. Way to job! Eddie was in great Cheat to Win mode. And for those people dissing the Next Big Thing I will say this now. Bautista = Sid.

Oh My God! I killed Terry!
