This is bullshit. Way to show faith in a sport, guys. Disney just took a team almost to the Stanley Cup, and now they won't even televise the first EVER outdoor game! Assholes! I have said before and will say again that there are few things in sport better than a perfectly played hockey game, and Disney is not helping this sport expand at all. Damn!
Sometimes I ask myself why I watch WWE after all the crap it's given me. HLA, necro, HHH, and so on. And then it hits me. That one simple phrase that can be modified and used for anything that gets you down, yet makes you keep coming back.
Every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it after sitting through this shit.
I thought the NHL/ABC contract ran out last season? Did they sign a new TV deal or is this the last season? If this is indeed the last season this could be a sitting duck coverage and ABC doing the bare minimum with it.
I heard rumors late last season that CBS might pick up the NHL, and have some of the games being shown on SpikeTV. Which I think might be a decent fit, but on the other hand if it's not on ESPN it might even get less respect down in the States.
The two players to watch after the Olympic break, in my mind are Ryan Miller and Martin Brouder. I'm interested in how Miller will react to playing so well btu then letting in that goal. As for Brouder....
