Except that Spanky and Rhyno have both recieved invites to the APA Bar-Room Brawl, the exact same event that Doink is supposedly going to participate in.
Hey, you're right! I still don't see the point of having Doink in it, however. Take out Doink, Brother Love, and Lombardi, and replace them w/ any combination of Funaki, The Bashams, or Shannon Moore.

But, but, its Doink. And with a bit of luck it might even be evil Doink. He was all sorts of cool back in the day and if you go back to a few of the threads regarding who the next blast from the past you'd like to see brought in would be, you'll find that his name came up a fair few times.
I was swaying 50/50 as to whether or not to watch this one but the chance to see old Doink one more time will probably tip me in favour of it, whether the chance to see any of the guys you mentioned rocks around every time Velocity or SD are on.
I have every faith that his work rate will be utterly shitty, but I'm damned if I didnt used to mark out like a little girl for him when I was younger and I'd love to see him again.
Anyways, unhealthy levels of Doink love aside, it sounds like a pretty good show, though having Dragon wrestle in dark matches doesnt sound like the greatest way to get him over.
Originally posted by VanillaSkynow, now, kids. Remember at No Way Out a few years ago, one of the matches was Stephanie/Trish. Now, everyone was shitcanning that match left and right before the PPV. You know what? That match freaking rocked. So, I'm having a wait n' see attitude before I judge.
Yes, we understand that, but that was WAY before the brand extension, WAY before Trish became a real wrestler (my hat off to you Trish), and WAY before we had a legitimate women's division with legitimate female wrestlers on one brand. On Smackdown (with all due respect to Sable, I like her promo skills for some reason), it's all wannabes, except Nidia and including Steph.
A lot has changed in those two and a half years, especially our tastes towards non wrestlers trying to be something they obviously aren't. Oh, and the angle behind that match two years ago just happened to have some sort of significance (at least to Trish's career), and it was FAR more compelling than two women fighting because one hit the other with a clipboard. Did I forget to mention that Steph sounds like a mule these days?

What happened to you Ringmistress? It used to be I could count on you for some Stephanie love!
That match at NWO 2001 was great b/c it was so well booked. I have no doubt in my mind that Stephanie and Sable will pull off a very watchable match.
For people saying that it was all because of Trish that the match was good, you are so dead wrong. Look at the Steph/Lita match from Raw a few years ago. Steph is very entertaining in the ring.
I might be one of the only ones, but I'm totally excited for this match.
Hey, I mock because I do love. I talk about how cool she is all the time, but I'm also being a tad realistic as far as what to expect. It's just that we got a stable of real wrestlers on Raw, matches like this are rather wasted. Besides, if the angle around this match was half as good as Trish's, I wouldn't be complaining too much (maybe). But so far, it's clipboards and wine, and that ain't good enough for me.
When you see the whole food fight thing again, close your eyes. Listen very carefully. Because the sound you hear is of the mating season. And THAT's why I'm not stoked. It could be a good booked match, but why have veal, when you got fillet mignon on RAW?
(edited by Ringmistress on 24.7.03 1106) 1100 bitches and counting....
I was thinking the same thing. Either a dye jobbed Pacino or DeNiro. Actually, I think Stephen Baldwin would fit better in the Shawn Michaels roll. Someone already mentioned the obvious Jean Claude Van Dam as Rob Van Dam.
