Post your thoughts on the show here, ladies. I thought last night's show was good for the most part. Not sure what to think of the Sable thing. However, my big brother (who watched it with me), actually had the same feelings. We definitely enjoyed Benoit and Rhyno, and we really enjoyed Angle, Benjamin, and Haas. He doesn't see anything irresistable in Mr. Ass (to women OR men) either. The one thing that threw us off was Vince/Zack/Sable/Stephanie. I'm very curious to hear the ladies' point of view on those segments especially. As for me and bro, we tried very hard not to make any Screen Actors Guild jokes about Stephanie. So, that's my vibe on Smackdown. Next week looks good (even though we in philly have to see it on June 28 at 4 PM, ugh) in NYC. Hit us up with your thoughts.

I said on Monday that maybe I'm just in a particularly good mood for wrestling. I guess I still am. The "unfinished business" theme they mentioned at the beginning really was a good theme for the show.

Undertaker/FBI, The Continuing Story. Nunzio was hilarious crossing himself while Taker had him up in the air. I wasn't expecting the APA to do the runin. Is that really Bradshaw?? Noooo -- c'mon, that's not Bradshaw! No, c'mon, really.

The installment story of Sable seducing Zach was pretty pathetic, on several different levels. It would have been fine if they'd just let him no-sell her, or if he'd been able to competently hold up his end of the deal (just to get shot down). As it was, it was pretty bad. At least the segments were pretty short.

(I think I need to take the Stephanie revelation to a different thread. I thought she did it very well though.)

I did like the "Brock Lesnar / Big Show Timeline" recap arc, going back to November. Who says the E can't carry a storyline for any amount of time?

Have I mentioned recently how much I hate commercials in the middle of matches? We get back, & Tazz & Cole can't help but tell us that we've missed a bunch of good stuff. Really good match, in a bit more power style than Chris usually uses. I liked Rhyno's communication throughout the match that he was the heel, & I also liked his counter of Chris' first German Suplex attempt (When Rhyno grabbed the ropes to keep Chris from getting him up.) -- one of the things I liked so much about Chris & Kurt was that they'd keep figuring out how to counter each other's moves. And a very nice small bit of business at the end, with Rhyno being angry, & Chris being sadly confused about that.

If I were sitting front row centre, I don't think I'd be making signs during the middle of a Chris Benoit / Rhyno match. Unbelievable.

I'm sure it was just conincidence that the "Ultimo Dragon, coming next week" commercial was right before the Rey Mysterio match. :-)

I'm not feeling the Kanyon love. I'm not offended by him or anything, but he just hasn't made me care one way or the other. (Yes, I do usually watch Velocity.) I always love Rey though!

Sooo, those Team UnAngle singlets certainly are form-fitting, aren't they? Mrrrow. Charlie even got the crowd to say "Why?" rather than "What?" -- emma impressed! Kurt said something about the boys having no balls -- uh, Kurt, I think we can refute that simply by looking at those new singlets. Very cool that Charlie gets the first Kurt match after his return -- & it was good stuff!

Have I mentioned recently that I need a macro to complain about commercials in the middle of matches? This being the second time tonight & all. Grrr.

Billy's supposed to be a face doing this gimmick, eh? Oooooh-kay. Not exactly floating my boat yet.

I love the Nidia squeal. The best use of the squeal so far was a couple of weeks ago when she saw the Ass of Doom coming at her. But generally she gets it in once per match, which is about right.

I liked the Eddie/Sean match. Not only for the purple trunks (Thanks for noticing, Toast!) & the hair fallen down. Not a very long match, but I thought there was some good stuff in there. Apparently they're still keeping the theme of Sean's introductory promos alive by calling his finisher The Prophecy -- maybe that means they'll get back to it eventually. Roddy & the Cuervo -- nice touch.

Was Big Show legitimately having trouble keeping a straight face at the "500 lbs of crap" sign in the audience? Brock jumping over Big Show from the top rope to start the match -- cool! Tazz selling the deliberate pace as "Big Show is focused" -- works for me. I actually found this match to be pretty good, too. Brock & Big Show are getting some good stuff done together. The Mr America runin at the very end was odd though.

Lotta good wrestling, & minimal crap -- I'm a happy girl.

I posted most of my thoughts on the main board, but I would like to take a minute here and bitch about the lack of Spanky.

Why isn't he in a meaningful fued? Wha is wrong with people? He is a great wrestler, a riot on the mic and positively dreamy! Why must they torment me like this, giving me a breif second of him backstage and then denying me more? WHat did I do to deserve this?

Ahem.

Although, when O'Haire pulled his little pony-tail out and flipped his hair back, that helped. A Lot.

Yeah, I didn't let that go unnoticed. He went through so much to get a job, and now all he does is direct people to offices?! Still, you can't beat being paid for that. But he's sooo cute, and I miss his nice sparkly trunks. Oh Brian, where art thou (Velocity?!)?

Yeah, Spanky didn't even get a match on Velocity this week, although Velocity & SD both had a goodly quantity of wrestling. I suppose the pink-purple trunks from last week's Velocity were intended to tide us over. (The shiny pinky-purple even frightened me!!!) They'll sort out something useful for him to do soon -- it'll be OK.

And speaking of Velocity -- I'm liking Mistress Shaniqua & the Basham boys -- the guys are selling this relationship just about exactly right. (Good thing they're on opposite casts, or Victoria & Shaniqua might have to tussle over Stevie.) Is it a bad thing that I have no problem distinguishing the Bashams, but I have to resort to the right/left pants encoding to sort out the La Res guys?

Toast, you are so right. There is exactly one justification for Sean O'Haire wearing his hair back. It is exclusively so that it can start to fall down as he gets into it, & then he can just let it go altogether. Oooh!

Much, much better than anyone was led to expect, IMO. I might not have bought it on my own, since the Hell in the Cell was the only match I had any serious interest in, but Hubby went ahead and got the show.
