From Memphis TN. Time to wake up it's MONDAY NIGHT RAW!

We open to big celebration for Shane Macmahon's victory over Shawn Micheals. I don't have time to type the monolouge because I don't have WPD to do yet the sement has already ten mintues and I'm starting feel queezy listening to the continued Macmahon rant. Finally, CENA comes out to save us from any more of the "Saints come marching in". Cena wants to get at HHH. Well, basically Cena has laid out marching orders for the Macmahon's. Shane says "easy way or hard way". Apparently we're going book a match.

Cena and HBK vs HHH and Shane, the crowd in Memphis is fairly behind Cena. They finally kill the first 20 minutes of Raw.

Unlimited: Signs of the night.

Thoughts: Not exactly the way to open the show. 13 days until Wrestlemania.

We're back with HHH complaing about the tag match with Shane in a small aspect. Vince says he has a "plan".

Carlito is out...Hell fire and Brimstone it's Kane to come beat up on the "Coolest" guy in the WWE.

Joey: What a skull jarring uppercut by Kane.

Yeah, missing JR now. He can call the obvious but he's not JR. First big move of the match the BackCracker by Carlito so he can work over Kane. That didn't last long as Kane powers out of the corner to slam down Carlito. Sidewalk slam. Kane to the top...Carlito mid air dropkick. Carlito land on his feet after an attempted moonsault and roles through. Chokeslam to HELL. Three count to end the match. Wasn't bad typical Kane goes over match.

Upnext: RVD vs Ric Flair vs Shelton IC Triple threat Match.

Unlimited: Carlito calls out Masters over him not coming to help in the match. Me think there is trouble between these two already. :-D

We're back: Carlito comes back to Masters and gets in his face. Masters is going to show Carlito how it's done against the Big Show.

Newwest class of 2006 inductee: As announced on some websites eariler this week The Blackjacks: Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza.

Triple Threat IC Match: First out...the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair...ad break.

Unlimtied: Flair Promo talking about his last championship every time everybody says it's last. Says he's going to win IC title and wear it into Wrestlemania's Money In the Bank ladder match. Plugs Memphis team and say they're close enough to Flair country.

We're Back: RVD is out ONE OF KIND! Shelton is out...no Momma?!? Again? Did they off Momma? A final heart attack or something? Any ways, Shelton wants RVD and Flair to go at it. Wrong Flair and RVD take turns on Shelton. Ok, Sheltons momma is recovering from surgery. RVD outs Shelton over the ropes. Leave Flair and RVD in the ring...Rolling Thunder. Shelton breaks up the count. RVD does the 7-10 split on Flair and Shelton as we get ad break.

Unlimited: Oh, that's funny...you can verbially hear Shelton ask if RVD is alright. They all climb back in the ring...Flair handing out chops on Shelton and RVD. Shelton sends Flair to the outside. Shelton fight down RVD and jumps out of ring.

We're Back: On the outside where we ironically left. Double underhook suplex by Shelton. RVD and Flair bleeding as Shelton hasn't been busted up. Shelton backdrops Flair then grabs RVD and throw his shoulder to the post. Flair and Shelton in the corner trading punches until Shelton gets the upper hand. Flair flop. Shelton going for the cover. RVD breaks up a cover clotheslines by RVD. Northern Lights suplex Joey doesn't know which to call it. Belly to belly with a bridge or Nothern lights. Are they both? Educated feet making Flairs cut worse. Rolling thunder again and then a split legged moonsault for a 2. Shelton trys to cheat. Dispatched. Flair with quick roll up 2. RVD with a wiff on the Frog spalsh. FIGURE FOUR! Shelton covers Flair while RVD is in the figure four! Three count! Whoa that's first time I've seen that finsh. Here comes Mick Foley...ad break.

Unlimited: Kiss Cam and Maria! It gets funnier every week.

We're Back: Memphis team shown. Cutting Edge review from SNME. Foley Conchairto revenge. Foley with face taped from thumb tacks. Funny I don't remember the thumb tacks being where that tape is under his eye on his cheek. Foley saying Edge is and was right. Telling the truth. Mick getting twisted. Different blood?!? Chinese food?!? Umm...he's been eating chinese. Umm...he's a vampire now? He's awakened CACTUS JACK! Edge is out...umm no it's only, Hoooooooooooo, Lita. Ok, vertigo and stuff...great. Lita being sweet as candy to talk to the nicer side of Mick Foley not Cactus Jack. Lita offering to make it a normal match again. A wrestling match. Foley pointing out it's a litteral run-in seriously funny. Cuts off Edge as the pass and blocks a balls shot to a mandibal claw on Lita. Shot of Torrie Wilson...um that top looks really tight...hmm is it going to be a nip slip Raw? Ad break.

Unlimited: Victoria's Out...well that was a waist of live feed band width.

We're back: WTF Playboy pillow fight. Well, great way to blemish a great card. Here comes Candice on a carried bed. Victoria actually can verbially be heard calling Torrie. Jeez what is tonight? You can hear everybody call spots night?

Chris "the Gas" Masters finally getting to do is posing entrance after a few weeks of not getting to. Ad Break

Unlimited: Promo saying Big Show is impressive and say "NO ONE BREAKS MY MASTERLOCK!" Well, well, well...I thought we've already seen Shawn technically break it. Big Show is out...raw power by the Big Show as Joey says. Throw Masters to the corner. Master conters and gets a momentary advantage. Big Show doing the big man moves. Master to the barricade. What? Big Show tell masters to move and Lawler call it? Jeez it's getting obvious tonight. Steel chair for the DQ. Masters beating on the Big Show and attempt the Masterlock then throws him to the ring post. Mickie James looks way to happy to be a heel girl now as she's litterly skipping. I know she's supposed to be psycho or something yet I want to still cheer her. Ad break

Unlimited: Matt Striker is your teacher. Blues is stolen from gospel music. Who'd want to hear about a guy singing about losing a girl. Listen to Matt Strikers lessons as he's smarter than all of us and he's our Teacher. I've got my education for the day as I didn't know Blue grew from gospel. I swear I get smarter everytime he's on.

We're Back: A giant gift box. Mickie is out and a review of the turn. Small crowd chant of psycho. Mickie is glad to face Trish at Mania. Mixed reaction on the championship remark of beating Trish at Mania. Ok this is a "little" present. Trish is out...some one's tied up under the sheet. It's Ashley! Mickie ordering Trish to stay back as Mickie is asking Ashley if she's psycho. Trish gets a hold of Mickie. Mickie back up nails Trish. A nasty looking jumping spike DDT by Mickie. Bleeding from the nose she picks up Trish and plants a kiss on her. Well, Victoria isn't psycho anymore it's Mickie...ad break

Unlimited: They show Ashley being carried out, yes refs carry here out and Trish walks out.

We're Back: This week in wrestling history 1997 the Austin/Hart submission match. Bret last WM appearnce. Austin passes out. The anti-hero becomes the unlikely hero.

Wrestlemania hype.

The GAME is out...Time to play the GGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAMMMEEE MU HAHA! It's all about control and if can take. Shane /w Vince is out...dolla dolla. SNME review the street fight HBK vs Shane. Ad break

Unlimited: Triple H talking about Memphis...cheap heat. Jerry chant! Jerry Lawler killed Elvis. Cutting on Cena in 14 days?!? Thought it was 13...King of Kings? HHH, Jesus Crist is on the phone and he's want his moniker back it's only about 2000 some years old. NOTE: If you don't worship Jesus then fill in your god. I'm not here to PC just like South Park I'll shoot on anything.

We're back: Sick latter table superplex bump. Cena's out...waits on HBK. HBK running out. Vince stops the match before it even gets started. DQ'ed on a clinched fist!?! By Vince. Cena escorted out...HBK vs HHH and Shane in a handicap match. HHH works over HBK then Shane gets back in to do more. Shane dance. Elbow drop and cover. 2 count as Shane taks to HHH. HBK reverses in the corner to chop HHH. Knee face plant by HHH and throws HBK outside. Shane throws HBK to the post. Tag to Shane. HBK punching it out with Shane. Off the ropes to land the five-arm/flying four arm. Atomic drops...clinched fists galore as Vince is now quiet. HBK to hit the big Randy Savage type elbow drop. Tuning up the band. HHH prevents the sweet chin music to post HBK's gonads. HBK and Cena taking out all the security gaurds. Chin music and FU. Vince challenges CENA for next week. Cena looks ready for it. Copyright logo and WWE sign fade to black.

All in all wasn't memoriable yet I got my fill. Discuss!

Not a big fan of the opening Shane-O celebration....Is the world really clamoring for a Shane turn on Vince?....The Kane/Carlito match was not so good....As a Grizz fan, it's cool to see the Memphis players there, and even Coach Fratello!....Not a bad triple threat match, especially in a show that was light on (good) wrestling....

The Foley promo was good, almost bordering on unintelligible though. I liked him outsmarting Edge too....Does anyone think Carlito/Masters have a chance at WM? They don't seem to have been booked that way....Good job with the Mickie/Trish angle. Mickie kissing Trish with the blood dripping was an unexpected bonus that made a great visual....

Okay, this is offically too much Vince for me. Though ending the match really keeps Cena and Triple H apart again until WM, which is good....Not a good RAW.

The Cena DQ would have been better if the first 10 blows of the handicap match weren't clenched fists in front of the ref. Why didn't the ref attempt to DQ Vince's Son and Son-in-Law for such a heinous act. And, since Vince was calling it a family gathering or something, does this mean the divorce has been forgotten or has the King of Kings of Kayfabe decided that kayfabe can be broken for him?
Considering the rap gimmick, it is unusual that Cena for the past several months has been far less hated south of the Mason-Dixon line rather than north of the line. You would think it would be the opposite. Also, they really are desperate to have the crowd not shit all over Cena at Mania by putting him in a match with Vince the week before Mania. If there really is karma in the world, Vince gets injured and can't compete at Mania.
Slightly paying attention to the RAW coming to your town break, this town they are going to in Iowa this weekend might be the first house show they've sold out in the U.S. in years.
If they are continually going to bring out a box, eventually Abdullah the Butcher must be in it.
Ted Dibiasi? Someone needs to fire the graphic person for that one.
Creative way to end the triple threat I-C match.
Since they were in Memphis, they really needed to have Lawler piledrive Coachman to get his pre-Rumble job back and to take Coachman away from the booth.

My thoughts:

*The Spirit Squad kisses up to Shane O'Mac, a real Memphis band plays "When the Saints go Marching In" while Shane-o, with his father, brags about beating HBK on SNME. Vinnie Mac then says, "Shawn screwed Shawn", and books HBK against Triple H. Cena arrives, and the match is changed to HBK and Cena vs. Shane-O and HHH

*Kane squashes Carlito

*Victoria beats Torrie (YES!) after interference by Candice (who appeared on a bed w/ 4 beefcakes); as for the Wrestlemania match between Torrie and Candice, rumor has it that Torrie doesn't wanna wrestle anymore, so I predict that she's gonna to Candice

*Welcome back, Ashley! Mickie should team up with Victoria as the most psychotic divas on Raw

*Cohn Jena & The Son-in-Law's best friend vs. The Son & The Son-in-Law: Cena's been kicked out, and it became a handicap match with:

*The Son-in-Law's best friend vs. The Son & The Son-in-Law:
LOL'd at the "HHH and ass" sign. Ignoring Vinnie Mac's warnings, Cena ran in and helped HBK. As a result, Vinnie challenged Cena next week

*HOF inductees: The Blackjacks. When I think of the Iron Claw, I think of Kerry Von Erich.

Going off-topic, can anyone close the topic I made? I've been beaten!

Watching the show tonight I thought three things:

1. The Flair/Shelton/RVD matchup seemed weird... not so much sloppy but well... I guess sloppy is the word. With the head bump from Flair and RVD, to the fact that the match just never seemed to flow made it difficult to watch and took the crowd out of it a bit.

2. The women are becoming literally the only thing to watch on the show. Between Candice's entrance (which was perfect for how they are doing that character), to that entire Mickie/Trish segment, the woman's division is the best-booked storylines of the show. And the reason why I think that it is is because of the simplicity of how it is booked. With Candice and Torrie it is a case of Candice letting the Playboy cover go to her head, and turning on Torrie, thus making a reason for them to fight.

With Mickie and Trish, no matter how much you can see it play out, the fact that they have allowed the story to go on for a while allows it to ebb and flow, and even though you can predict the Mickie turn weeks ahead of time, what she did tonight came off as real impactful, especially with the bloody nose and the trickle of blood on Trish's face after she kissed her. To sum it up, this division provides enough T&A to satisfy, a reasonable amount of wrestling skill/sportz entertainment to make it watchable, and it is left alone enough to allow it to develop.

3. Watching the HBK/HHH/Shane/Vince matchup makes the entire viewing audience, both "smart" and not smart both wonder why this story goes on and also intuitively makes both audiences know whom is in charge/whom are the top guys. I watched this show with 2 people tonight. One person hadn't watched wrestling since WCW in 96 and never was a huge fan, and the other was a woman who knows nothing about wrestling save for recognizing Hulk, Stone Cold and the Rock. And after watching that main event, both of them asked me if all of the people involved in that match were friends, because they found the main event storyline to come off as something a group of friends would create for themselves and not care if anyone else was into it because they were having fun. And after hearing that take it is extremely true and telling. The fact that the main event was made up of 3/4ths McMahon, the 4th guy is tight with them all and the fact that the announcers had to outright tell the non-believable lie that the audience was “stunned” at the match when it was obvious the crowd was extremely bored out of their skulls makes the priorities in this company completely whacked out.

Sorry for the long post; if you read all of this I thank you for checking out my take.

As weird as it may be to say, I think the Mickie/Trish angle caught a break because Mickie busted her nose. If she would have just planted a regular kiss on Trish, I don't think they would have gotten the reaction they were looking for. But planting a bloody kiss fits right into Mickie's psycho persona. That's the best bit they have had with that feud in a long while.

I think Foley/Edge is working nicely as well. The rest of the RAW feuds, not so much. I wish they would go ahead and turn Cena heel, instead of struggling along to keep him a face. I think Cena would be a monster heel.

Ok... so, I'm from Iowa, and just to let ya know, the Spencer show is gonna be PACKED... there were people waiting outside for tickets the night before... just like a Wrestlmania ticket opening... The tickets sold out in LITERALLY 10 MINUTES!!! No, I'm not kidding you, 10 minutes. The area is like 4,000 or so capacity, and it is gonna be jammed. Unfortunately, I won't be in Spencer, but I'll give ya the rundown from the Sioux Falls house show the next nite!

What I liked:

-Cena's Trips impersonation...I thought it saved that segment, but also fear if Cena retains, we're gonna be treated to the new installment of Austin/McMahon, with Cena being the new nemesis. Ugh.

-Foley's outsmarting Edge/Lita and putting the mandible claw on her in front of him.

-The triple threat was fun to watch, and I'm not usually a fan, I said last week, and I'll say it again, if they keep this a 3 way feud for a while I wouldn't complain, and Shelton pinning Flair while he had the Figure 4 was genius, great out of nowhere finish.

-Mickie James...after dragging this shit along, they're flying with it now...and this is by far the best diva angle ever...I actually look forward to what's gonna be happenin next, not just looking for the FF button to get to the next important shit.

What I didn't like...

- Too much McMahon.
- Way Too much McMahon, I never thought I'd be actually wanting Eric Bischoff back on TV...but yet, here I am.

Although I usually heed the advice of the Insane Clown Posse and "quit [my] fuckin' speculatin'", I'm intrigued by how Shane McMahon reacts every time Vince books him into matches he doesn't want any part of. Could it be there's some long-term planning afoot here, that Shane will eventually be pushed too far by his insane father and assert some independence, perhaps taking over the vacant-too-long position of RAW general manager? Or creative will do nothing of the sort; Shawn beats Vince at Mania and that's that. If we MUST have a McMahon on television during RAW, Shane is the one I'd prefer to see. Shane is the only McMahon I can say I "enjoy watching" as opposed to "patiently tolerate". For me, Shane is currently the most interesting character on RAW who isn't psycho, desperate for lesbian love-and-affection Mickie James.

That was a LOT of confetti.

Carlito is slowly expanding the moveset and winning me over. Very nice moonsault.

How could we tell Mick was angry? He shaved his cheeks. When he sports the Spike Dudley goatee, run fo da hills. I was distracted by Lita's shoulder tattoo, but I was aware enough to be suckered once again into thinking Mick might have a chance at WM. But we all know better. He's gonna die. Again. Not even the power of the Angry Shaved Cheeks can save him.

I hate Mickie. Hate hate hate. And not in a "oooo, that wascally devilish woman", shake my fist and hiss at the screen kinda hate. No, I mean a hate usually reserved for recurring unfunny, loud SNL characters. I've consistently rooted for Trish in the past few years, but now I'm thisclose to making a magic shrine to channel all my Mickie Hate to power a Chick Kick to send those ponytails flying into the (ahem) nosebleed seats. No, not that kinda shrine. That's Dean's territory.

The main event ended great. The crowd as insane for Shawn and John wiping out the security guys. Now, I'm a fan of Shane-O Mac. Have been ever since that Summerslam match with Test. Love that theme song. Love the boxing shuffle. But, dammit boy, you got gray in your hair. Stop wearing frat-boy jerseys and sweats. Get a costume.

WM is two weeks away, and the championship feud is at a low simmer. Remember, Hunter won me over to his side for this PPV, but they are pushing Vince/Shawn much, much harder than the title match.

I noticed that, and I thought it was intentional as far as highlighting Vince's hypocrasy.

Add me to the list of people who thought Mickie's bloody nose was perfect for the segment.

Watching Foley's promo, I've forgotten how much I missed him on my tv. The fact that he immediately knew Edge was going to come from the crowd and was able to block the low blow (and reverse to a mandible claw) was fun. Not the greatest Foley promo, but good enough for me.

Edit: I also loved how, at the end, when Vince is trying to think of his punishment for Cena, he looks to his left and his right, like he's considering which one of the two he should put in a match with Cena, and then of course he concludes he's the toughest one there. The confused looks of HHH and Shane were fun as well.

I thought Cena's impersonation of Triple H was dead on and hilarious. I also thought the "one big family" thing with Vinnie, Shane, and Triple H was good too.

Did anyone really think Edge wasn't gonna be there?

I am getting tired of the Spirit Squad. They even messed up they cheer.

How much confetti fell? Good God it was still coming down in the main event. You couldn't even see the mat at one point.

I still don't get Verne Gagne induction into the HOF but whatever.

I enjoy watching beautiful women as much as the next guy. But do we need them all to be kissing? But yeah, Mickie's nose bleed was the best timed nose bleed ever.

Did anyone notice the smirk Cena gave when Vinnie announced he was gonna face Cena next week?

I think it has far less to do with Vince burying the hatchet with a former enemy than the fact that Vince is releasing an AWA DVD this year and this provides some name recognition so those who weren't fans pre-1990 have at least heard the Gagne and by effect AWA name and might purchase the product. If Vince didn't have the AWA film library, the likelihood of Verne being honored or mentioned would in all probability be nil.

I think the point was that all the divas seem to be inclined to smooch another. Just as all new divas win their first "lose your clothes" match and then peel off all their clothes to celebrate. Lazy booking (if it can be called "booking") is another reason why the diva angles are dead boring. We'd have more interest if they acted differently.

Thank you for explaining that. That was the point I was trying to make.

It's like seeing the same match back to back. It happened at a local show I went to. Two local guys wrestled then the next match was Al Snow vs. Trevor Murdoch (then Trevor Rhodes). They did they same spot where the ref bodyslammed Murdoch.

I just want to point out that for a second, I could've sworn I saw the term "lezzy booking" being used.

Anyway, yeah. I think it's time for Creative to shit or get off the pot with the Spirit Squad. They keep sending them out to do the same schtick week after week, with little variation except what the words are in the cheer. There's too much potential money to be made from those guys for them to be that lazy with the gimmick.
