Gamestop (PDF AD!) has a neat deal right now where you can trade in one recent popular bestseller and buy a different one from the list:

Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 (PS3, 360)
Assassin's Creed II (PS3, 360)
Left 4 Dead 2 (360)
Tekken 5 (PS3, 360)
Halo 3 (360)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Crack in Time (PS3)
Dragon Age Origins (PS3, XBOX 360)
Forza Motorsport 4 (360)
Bayonetta (PS3, 360)
Darksiders (PS3, 360)
Borderlands (PS3, 360)

As luck would have it, I finished up R & C about a week ago (platinum trophy #2, hooray!) and was thinking about trading it in. Has anyone played Dragon Age? Or Borderlands? All I've read about that one is it needs to be multiplayer.

I was thinking about just getting NHL, but they kinda leave it a mystery as to what you get if you if you just trade in the game for something else.

What you've heard about Borderlands is 100% correct. I played it, was instantly bored, and set it aside. I went back to it later, got into upgrading my weapons, and actually enjoyed myself for about 10 hours. All of a sudden, the formula just got stale. There's barely a story or a focus to the game besides just looting like crazy. Once you hop online with some friends, though, it's a whole new game. AMAZING online co-op, but that's the only reason I'd play it again.

Dragon Age Origins is awesome. Like most Bioware games, it starts off frustratingly slow, but quickly picks up steam a couple hours in. Then, it plays like a more-focused Oblivion. It's not heavy on the do-it-yourself action, and plays closer to Star Wars: KOTOR and Jade Empire than Mass Effect, but it's definitely worth a play if you liked either of the former. The AI settings remind me of FFXII. The menu system can be unwieldy, though, so avoid the mage class unless you're a glutton for menu punishment.

This week's PSN update is really pathetic, though... A demo of Uno and some videos. What a drag... Can't wait for the playable demo of Heavy Rain that's been promised in the next couple weeks. The latest issue of Qore got me re-excited for it.

playing the DS version.... so far, about the same as all the other LEGO games, but that's only through parts of level 1. glad to hear some of the lesser Bat-Villains getting roles in the game.
