(Someone please nuke the other thread - I hit ENTER by accident.)

For those of you watching TNA, are you getting a kick out of this guy? I still think he's pretty green in the ring and the POOOOUUUUUNCE~! (period), while fun, ain't much of a finisher. But damn, this guy is pretty entertaining. He takes this leopard gimmick to the max. The mannerisms like sniffing the camera and the endless fidgeting and especially those wacky, goofy promos of his. I'm wondering why the folks at TNA didn't utilize him like this in the first go-round many, many months ago. He's a heel but the fans are pretty into him - I don't see much booing in his direction.

So what do you think? Anyone thinks this guy is going to become a big name in TNA. He may be 34 (I checked) but this guy may have that "IT" factor.

I'm certainly a fan. I think he could be a huge star, with enough "it" factor to be a crossover star, but he needs to improve his ringwork a bit. Unfortunately, there is a profound need for a secondary title in TNA, and a title reign would maintain his momentum as well as increase his fan following. He also needs some merchandise...

I think he could be something, but TNA is pushing him to fast.

His mannuerisms are great, but I contend he needs to lay off the cocaine.

I like him alright. His promos and mannerisms entertain me.

The pounce, as I mentioned in another thread, is really dependent on who's taking it. With some guys it looks great; against others it's pretty weak. I think the Alphabomb might be a better finisher with some guys; maybe he should work that into his repertoire a little more.

He's got personality, and he's got a good look, but the Pounce just isn't cutting it as a finisher. It's a friggin's shoulderblock. At the very least, make it a lariat/steinerline type deal.

And everytime he talks about the "poooouuuuuuunce!", he reminds me of Cat from Red Dwarf.

Forgive me, but a secondary title? What's the NWA World Title? :)

I'm not an especially big fan of Brown, but if it means that TNA will actually push some new, home-grown talent in the main event rather than WWE mid-carders, I'm all for it.

Monty Brown doesn't do it for me. Granted I've only seen patches of TNA here and there. He reminds me of Chilly Willy actually. Now D-Ray 3000, that's a guy I like.

The Pounce is a pitiful finisher. It reminds me when the Rock first arrived in the WWE. He used this weakass shoulderbreaker. Brown is too green. He should have a manager until he gets more ring time. Ahmed Johnson he isn't. I agree with the pushing him too fast. Although he is homegrown, he hasn't shown enough to warrant a championship track. And God's sake, stop the feline mannerisms. Although a leopard is a cat, so is Garfield.

Questions from a non-TNA viewer here;

What is the Pounce exactly? And is the Alpha Bomb any better than your run of the mill sitdown powerbomb?

The pounce is something like a Bouncing SpearNot head first into the gut, but kind of like Pouncing onto a opponent

Pounce: Imagine a Spear/Shoulderblock, except that he hits it from the opponent's side, rather than from the front. If it's a smaller guy, they can get bent in half sideways and flung about and it looks good. Bigger guys (or simply guys not willing to sell, I guess), not so much.

Alphabomb: Brown starts by holding the opponent cross-body, like he's preparing for a fallaway slam. Then he tosses the guy up, catches him sitting up on his shoulders, and powerbombs him down. I think Brown usually lands on his knees and just holds it for the pin.

You should see him live. He's not the best wrestler, but he certainly shows that he's into his gimmick. I'm a fan.

I think the guy has all the potential in the world.

Have you ever seen him not work his heart out and genuinely look like he's having the time of his life.

You can't fake that!

go go Monty

Batista looks to have the bigger future. I wonder if the Dudley Boyz will ever reunite, since it looks like Buh Buh is having much more success on his own.
